object designer

Guess what all? There is an object designer out for rct2 now! Tycoonplanet.com has a designer that allows you to put simple scenery on the game. I have tried it and it does work, and I don't know much about computers. The only thing i've tried so far is the planet earth from clip art on the web. You artist out there should be able to do a lot more with art programs.

To do what I did all you have to do is find a piece of clip art on the web, save it as a *.bmp file, open the obj. editor, open your clip art file in the editor in all four directions(nw,ne,sw,se), identify it in all translations you know( I did it in british and american), make it stackable if you want it to be or put supports on if you want, save it using 8 or less characters as a .dat file in the scenery obj file, and open the game and it should be in the scenario editor.

It's all easier than it looks, and very neat. Try it.

For those of you who are wondering, you can download the editor at http://strategyplanet.com/rctuk/tid/.

my spoon is too big!

And is this supported by the game, or something that will cause the game to crash?

No it's not supported by the game, but the game hasn't crashed on me yet. I guess you could think of this as a trainer.

This will become very handy when it is more developed, when we can make it 2, 3, 4 squares and even 2x2, 3x3, etc. When this happens we can just take pictures, convert them to bmp files, and then have real life scenery and signs.
