NY WABC 7 Amusement Park story tonight at 5pm

On the 5pm news tonight on NY's ABC 7, they're doing a story on amusement parks. Not sure what it's really about, but they were just advertising it.

Thanks for alerting those of us in the remaining 95% of the country who don't get that channel ;)
I would imagine it would have something to do with all the troubls at Rye Playland lately. Either that, or the closing of Astroland. The two major NYC-area parks are making it into the media a lot this year for different reasons.
Don't you just love those news teases!!!...

"There's a lethal gas leak in a north side neighborhood!...Find out which one, at 11:00!!"

Is the water you're drinking leading to kidney failure? Stay tuned after weather and sports, starting tonight at 11:00.

Something you're eating right now could kill you instantly!...more at 11!
I realized it would only apply to 5% of the people on here, but they usually post a video of it.
Riders stuck on local amusement park roller coaster, find out which one tonight at 10!

A day at the park is what you make it!

Local cities under immediate emergency mandatory evacuation... find out which ones tonight at 11!
Local TV news is worthless and a complete waste of time. Details at 11.
Ah, but is it as much a waste of time as FOX News and, more specifically, The O'Reilly Factory? ;)
How about ALL TV news including shows that pretend to be news but really aren't are worthless and a waste of time?
Local news is really about as bad as it gets. O'Reilly may be a total tool with a program so far from "news" it's not even funny, but at least it's entertaining and well produced.

I think cable and national news are a definite step up from horrendous local news...still a whole lot of room for improvement though.

-Nate (did I really just stand up for Bill O'Reilly?)

I think you did. And I guess he is entertaining, in an irritating, blood pressure-escalating way.

I actually agree with the guy on a number of issues like immigration laws but I can't stand his approach. If the show is about letting people debate, then let them debate and don't cut them off. Right now the show is more or less a podium for the guy to say what he wants but market it as discussion forum- something it's not.

^That's Papa Bear O'Reilly to you! ;)

I swear I'd like to see Bill O. and Ann Coulter square off against Keith Olbermann and Stephen Colbert - Celebrity Deathmatch-style.

Why? Just Kos... :)

Nothing like when the station makes themselves part of the story, and the leading part of the story at that.

"Channel 3 was the first to break the story about..."

"Channel 6 has exclusive coverage of the accident on the interstate..." (translation: our news helicopter is filming from a different angle than the other stations.)

You can't beat local news. Here in PA, the friday night news is compressed into 5 minutes, so they can spend the other 25 minutes reporting on high school football games. (Asteroid heading straight toward earth... how will that affect traffic at one the area's most deadly intersections? More on that right after our exclusive coverage of the big game between Mt. Carmel and Berwick.)

They should spend more time talking about the asteroid. Depending on where it lands, it might affect traffic leaving the game.
I'm guilty...High School Football news is the only part of local news I can stomach these days. Though there is a cool (non-PC) local guy on channel 5 here in Vegas in the mornings...

Los Angeles has the worst local news. They'll lead with a story on Brittney or Brangelina...and then follow it up with "less important" items such as the Iraq war, etc.

Sad, sad, sad.

^^But you gotta like LA news stories about it raining!! ;)
