Number of entrances on large maps without confusing peeps?

This is for RCT2.

I've never really built my own scenario from scratch before and now that I've finally got some free time this summer I wanted to construct a really unique terrain scenario. The park is going to be pretty huge so I wanted to have more than one entrance to be able to deal with the peep traffic. Can you have too many entrances though? Are 4 too many? Will 3 confuse the peeps?

Whenever I have played other large scenarios in the past the peeps always seem to have trouble finding the exit. Is there a trick to prevent this from happening with more than 2 entrances?

I have a little less than half of map to alter, so I'd like to know what the best configuration for entrances is.

If I were you I wouldn't be concerned about the entrance, I'd be concerned about how much the game will lag if you build such a huge park.

I don't know exactly how the entrances will work out but I've never had a problem with the peeps geting lost.

I've never really seen RCT2 lag, no matter the size of the park.

The code for THAT game doesn't suck...

Oops, I misread the post. Sorry about that.
Actually there is a way to have fancy entrance's and multiple entrances. For one use the no entry signs outside the park and direct them to the main entrance they will come through. Then you can build building over nearby to disguise them, but be careful. I've screwed up and peeps just hung outside...make sure all paths connect and are able to reach the main entrance, peeps will be able to leave through any entrance...but enter through only 1. I think there's another way but thats what I know for RCT2.
Does anyone foresee a problem with having two entrances that aren't across the park from each other but rather at 90 degrees from each other? Would this confuse the peeps?

no not really...just remember to set the entry points. open the map and there should be some extra buttons to set entry points if i remember correctly.
Switching over to another subject without starting a new topic...

On a "park value with paid off loan" scenario, do you guys feel that the amount you can make your park worth is a function of the amount you can be loaned? Like is there a point at which recouping your money is no longer fun since you have to wait around to make it back?

I'm not very good at these scenarios myself so I don't have a good idea about what the money cap should be.

I finished building up the terrain for my scenario and started to play it. I had raised the elevation of the entrances and now when I open the park, it looks as though there are peeps stuck in the ground down at the level where they would have entered the park before I raised the elevation. Does anyone know how I can remedy this problem?

What you really need to be concerned about is paths. To help make sure that guests do not get lost, one rule I learned from some RCT site is to be careful with the layout of the paths.

Imagine that a peep knows what direction the exit is, but is not smart enough to know to walk in a different direction in order to get to a path that goes in the right direction. Another words, when ready to leave, the peep will get stuck if their isn't a path leading directly to the exit. He is not smart enough to walk around a "U" shaped path in order to find the exit; he want's to walk through the "U", but can't because their is no path cutting across.

That's the best I can describe it, and you may already know this and are asking something else.

I ended up deciding on using just one entrance after playing the scenario. There are already 1000 people in the park and it's by no means crowded.

If anyone wants to see what it looks like, here's (half of) the park. There is one picture with trees and one without.

Raptorhead Ravine:

The scenario premise is that a farmer in southern Indiana has come upon rough financial times and has decided to start selling off his less farmable parcels of land. The land you buy is quite hilly and partially covered in a forest. You can tell that the land has been neglected for many years by the amount of vegetation and overgrowth present, but you decided to go on with your plans to build an amusement park. The bank is willing to loan you a maximum of $100,000, and you must build up your park so that it attains a value of $1,000,000 after the loan has been paid off. You will be limited to some older types of rides in the beginning, but more modern ones will come along eventually.

With a park this big, I was sure to include every mode of transportation so the peeps don't have to walk so much. I think it looks like a really fun scenario and has a lot of potential for other scenario objectives as well. I hope that it will give those that haven't played the game for a while a reason to start playing it again.

The island's formation happened by accident, but I thought it looked so cool, I named the scenario after it.

If anyone wants to download it from me, just hit me up via email or AIM, and I'll send it to you.
