Noticed something about X

Look at the track mounts on the supports and notice how the start out horizontal and then end up vertical. How can the transition of the track work. Maybe someone can explain.

I think that is where the track starts to bank.

Yup. I've 'nother question. Since you leave the station travelling backwards, does anyone think the seats will tilt back kinda like on X-Flight to make the trip up the lift hill more comfortable?
The track does a flip on that turnaround, I beleive. Also...I don't think the seats will tilt...instead, I'm guessing they will swing going up the lift...so you are level with the ground. The 3rd and 4th rails don't appear until the very top of the drop.

What do you mean they don't appear until the top of the drop??

Uhg good question. That will hurt like heck if the trains don't tilt...Wonder if they thought about that. Haha I can see it know..First ride on X.."So how do you feel?" Asks MMman. "My ribs...My ribs..:(" Says inocent rider...L:)l

here is the thing that i am worried about x. have you ever noticed the farther you sit from the middle of the train on a b&m the more headbanging there is. i am worried that the trains are soo far from the track the headbanging will be horrendous. arrow please make me wrong.
I think the seats look a little to small for my liking, and I'm not happy about those wrap around harnesses, just what happens if the buckle comes loose........

I mean that the 3rd and 4th rails don't move until the first drop. Notice how they are near the top of the track during the lift. Once the drop starts, they move towards the bottom. When they are at the top, they cars swing freely. When they move downwards, the cars spin. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Another thing I noticed is on the SFMM animation as the train leaves the station, it banks into the turn before the lift hill. In real life it doesn't, is a flat turn - not a bad thing.

Please, let's not bash X before it opens or this thread could get closed. Let's wait 'till opens, I have a feeling it will be awesome. How can it not be from looking at it? Ok, it may win the award for 'most awesome looking coaster' & not for 'best ride.' Sheesh, am I a hypocrite or what? :)
I don't think the headbanging will be bad at all. The shouldar harness don't go near your head, first of all (look in the IAAPA photos section). Secondly, there really is no back-and-forth movement to cause headbanging except the turn by the station, but that looks high enough to slow the train down so it doen't negotiate it fast.

X-Flight flips to bring the riders facing straight. I don't know but there is no flip to inverted track until you hit that raven turn, so does that mean you will go down that first hill backwards or upside down or flying facing away????
Ok, let me see if I can answer everyone's questions/comments.

PGASFMW - The connectors to the track piece will ease the transition as they aren't always even with the track. Hope that makes sense. Look here - http://www.twistedrails.com/sfmm2k1/jul04-14.shtml - See how the connector on the right isn't angled the same as the track.

Taipan, Coaster131 - The seats will rotate in the station so you're lying on your back, heading backwards for the lift. They will not swing going up the lift at all. There is also no flip on the station turnaround. Also, the SFMM animation is not entirely accurate, thus the lack of banking on the turn to the lift.

Mikeman - You will go down the first hill like a skydive, with your head facing in the direction of the lift hill. While going down the drop, the seats will rotate so that your head is facing the ground so that when you're going through the Raven Turn you will be looking back at the first drop.

As is said, headbanging shouldn't be an issue since the restraints won't be near your head. From what I understand, the restraints will also move up and down to fit each persons height.

X is going to be one crazy ride, lemme tell you. Will it be a success? Of course. Will it be in the top ranks of world-class-coasters? Probably not. But is that really a bad thing? SOB is not in the top ranks, neither is stealth, neither is oblivion. All these 'crazy-next-gen' type of rides coming out never make it onto the lists because they just aren't proven yet.

X WILL be good.. It's just a question as to HOW good it will be...

Once X is built, I think that it will have different reviews. Some say it rocks, other say it sucks. Just like SOB. Next-gen rides arent doing good for some reason. I think its because for some odd reason, a lot of people dont like change. Oh well. It looks awesome!

by the looks of it on all the pictures you are gonna be goin up the lift hill tilted forward. it might be a little bit uncomfortable but who cares your only gonna be on the lift for what 30 - 45 seconds.

the lift hill will be longer than the actual ride
beastnum1 - You will be lying on your back going up the lift, much like the Vekoma Flying Dutchmans.

As you leave the station backwards, and you do a sky dive down the first hill that means your head will be closer to the track than your feet (opposite to other coasters).
That means when you pull out of the drop unless you spin round you will then be travelling upside-down. That'll feel wierd.
Someone may have pointed this out before but i only just noticed it.
Hey Karl, has anyone ever come up to you to say hi at SFMM? Because you have your pic on your site and maybe some people have noticed you before. Ever happen?
