Nothing new for MiA in 2003

And boy o boy did Knotts get a shoots-the-shutes flume!

Sarcasm? ;)
No, not at all.
Well that's typical of CF isn't it - spending all their money on their beloved CP ; )

Adventure Falls is a Shoot-the-chutes flume......Not quite the caliber of Perilous Plunge but a Shoot-the-chutes no the less.

You are no longer who you were and tomorrow is now yesterday. In the event of an emergency, do not become alarmed. Move Quickly to the nearest exit.

WOF had a shoot the chutes before CF came (93). Knotts does not have a hyper coaster, so you can't really say it's a CF staple, MIA and Knotts are "Hyperless"...although I might trade my hyper for a rocket. I do agree the towers are a staple...MIA will probably get some form of one in the near future. Once again though, they can have ours and we can get a double shot with tilting seats!

But alas...I can only dream....

Well, Xcelerator is 205 feet tall, but no one considers it a hyper coaster. Its rumored that Cedar Fair wanted to cancel Ghostrider, cause they probably wanted to add a Morgan Hyper. Good thing they didn't. Ghostrider beats Mamba's ass.

Whoever said the best always goes to Cedar Point: Perilous Plunge is INSANE! 121 feet, a drop as steep as millenium force, with less of a pullout, 5 story tall splash, not a dry piece of anything on you. Intamin has done it again! And then recently the Orange county register wrote an article about how Knotts and CF wanted a more "supreme" supreme scream, one that was 4 legged like PT, but still 12 feet taller like Supreme Scream. But then DCA snatched the market's purchasing rights 1st, so we got stuck with Supreme Scream. Whyat really sucks is the Maliboomer is WEAK, what a waste. No intendity, no wind from the scream/barf sheilds, no excitement. The compare ghostrider, whose project cost a mind boggling 24 million bucks, to Mean Streak. And the only time KBF has turned on the MCBR is in an E-stop, and during testing. Its hard to Imagine the 5th drop on the ride being the best.

I'd like to back up Speed on that Supreme Scream thing. There was an article put out by the Orange County Register how Cedar Fair, L.P. intended Supreme Scream to be a quad-leg tower like Power Tower, part Space Shot, part Turbo Drop, at the same height it is right now. All they did with the orignal plan was cut it down to a three leg all-Turbo Drop complex...sad thing.

It's not like CP hasn't added new rides to MiA. The first year they added adult and kid go carts, a Dodgem, the train (which I understand is being expanded for next season), and the Rip Cord. They also did a LOT of fixing up and landscaping.

I would much rather see CP slowly build MiA into a grander park than to add too much too soon. Some people forget that CP was not much more than MiA was in the 1960's. CP has had 43 years to expand. MiA has only been under CF's wing since 2001.

Did they add a coaster's diner yet? Think of how fast that replaced what was formerly in the spot at knotts, which was either some buffet or airheads teen complex, whatever that was.

I fully agree with CPLady....the park needs a lot of infrastructure improvements first. Things like bathrooms, eating establishments (and I don't believe they have a Coasters yet), merchandising/games, lights, shade and everything else we take for granted in fully established parks that MIA is currently lacking.

I do think the park can be built into something very nice...and I would love to have the opportunity to build a park that way as opposed to buying one already fully built. They can take the things that have worked best at their other parks and hopefully avoid some if the things that have failed. I would be all for adding some used flats in the meantime to help the selection. Coasters will come in time.
