Associated parks:
None
Closed rides: Skull Mountain, Chaos, Space Shuttle, Buccaneer, Houdini, et. al.
Time at park: 7:30pm-10
Broken down rides: Nitro, Rolling Thunder
Line closed for a long breakdown: Medusa
Rode Medusa, GASM, Nitro, and Chiller. It was all we had time for.
GASM and Medusa's midcourse brakes were on extra extra hard, kinda weird considering it was pretty cold.
Very disappointing walking around finding ride after ride closed/broken down.
Thanks,
DMC

So I'm gonna guess that they didn't have enough staff to run these rides. Remember school has just restarted.
School starting is not really a good excuse, considering that they basically go to a weekend only schedule after Labor Day.
Thanks,

Kris most of the workers are college kids. And about all of them had to go back to school before labor day and or take of a week or 2 before they are do back at school.
This is true, but they cut their operating days down from 7 to about 2 and 1/2. They should be able to shuffle around other employees. They should also plan around this, considering that it's a constant factor year to year.
Thanks,

I know how annoying it is to lose something like that while you think you are still logged in. :-)

I don't think Skull Mountain, Chaos, Space Shuttle, Buccaneer, Houdini, et. are all closed or broke down.
Hey, if it isn't open, then it is closed... doesn't matter if it is for the long term or short term, because of staffing or because of break down.
When you pay to go to a park, it is reasonable to expect most of the rides to be operational. Rides do ocassionally go down and that is to be expected... but the list of closed rides that were in the first post was very similar to what I found back on Aug 17 (different rides perhaps, but about the same number of rides).
Sorry, but I am not going to give Great Adventure a pass because of "Staffing Issues". Other seasonal parks seem to operate just fine.
