Our first stop was to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The park was not very crowded which was nice. After we got our all day passes we headed over to Hurricane.
Hurricane: This is a compact coaster that is better than it looks. I think it's the third or fourth drop thats really amazing. It's a tight swooping drop and when it reaches the bottom, it curves right back up again. You have to be there. Hurricane also has two good helices before ending.

Chaos: Good spin ride. 2 rides.
Haunted Castle: Lame haunted house. Not very good effects. It broke down while we were in line for about ten minutes. 1 ride.
Giant Dipper: This is an old out-and-back wooden coaster. It starts out with a GREAT tunnel. It was very unexpected-right after coming out of the station and very dark. The ride is pretty good paced with a lot of air-time in the back seat. Almost no wait all day. 7 laps.
Mini Golf: Played 18 holes. Lost by three strokes.

We arrived at the park and used our $4.00 off coupons for the park. $8.00 for parking. Why do you even have to pay for parking?
Top Gun: Like everyone else we headed to Top Gun which is one of the first things in the park. This is a smaller B&M but I found it to be still intense. You go down a drop, vertical loop, high speed turn, in-line twist, more turns, corkscrew, and a great helix over water. That last helix brings you so close to the water I thought we were going to fall in! Then it's up into the brakes. Oh, the themeing was pretty good in the line. Some nice stuff to look at. 3 laps.
Vortex: Worst B&M I have ever been on! This stand-up coaster was so rough it gave me a headache for a while afterword. Vortex has two inversions (loop and corkscrew) and a lot of turns. It is really small compared to all the coasters going up today. 1 lap.
Demon: This thing really suprised me! You swoop down towards the log flume. Then 2 screws on your back. Even the brakes feel weird at the end! 2 laps.
Had a great time. This park needs a hypercoaster or a good woodie.

It took a while to find SFMW. We had to stop and ask directions but everything went ok. Arrived at the park about one hour after it opened. Not a cloud in the sky but kind of windy. Crowds were light.
Roar: I guess this coaster is also called "Roar West" because there is a Roar somewhere in the east. This is the best woodie I have ever been on. Keep in mind I have not been on many of them though. It starts of with a steep curving drop which leads into a mayhem of twisting, churning track. The pacing is great. Roar never lets up for the entire ride. I did get some quick airtime especially in the back but I don't really care that much for air time. I think it is a little overrated. It is still a lot of fun. 6 laps.
Medusa: My first floorless coaster. I did feel the floorless effect because there is nothing under your feet. It is actually scary in the front seat because it looks like your feet are going to hit the track! The lift hill is around 150 ft. tall. The first drop is mostly straight because it turns at the top of the lift. Up into a GIANT loop and then into the diving loop. The train enters the diving loop from the top of the loop. I never noticed any other B&M's do that. Next inversion is the barrel roll followed by the "Sea Serpent." It feels a lot like a cobra roll which isn't bad at all. Then comes brakes. Then two screws and a turn to end the ride. This ride is extremely smooth and fast. 7 laps.
Tazmanian Devil: This is some sort of Huss spin ride. I think it is a top spin or something?? I get my flat rides mixed up. This is a fun ride. It's like a big pendulum that rocks back and forth and spins at the same time. The bad part is, a lot of people probably get sick on this ride. Nobody did when I was riding! 1 ride.
Kong: This is the UGLIEST coaster I have ever seen! Orange track with brown supports, pea-green trains makes not a good mix. Ok ride. Pretty rough like probably every other Vekoma SLC out there. Oh, BTW, Stealth had a short wait compaired to what I've heard. It was only 30 min. and that was with a brakedown the first time. The second time was even shorter. I imagine it is bad on Saturdays, but the problem with the capacity on this ride is the slow loading process.
They are both good. If your not pickey about your coasters like me, you will have a good time.
