Non-HHN Halloween events....

Who'd think I'd post this topic and NOT have it be about Knoebels...

Last weekend, we went to the opening of "Terror in the Wild" at Wild Adventures. Have been reluctant to say anything since I don't really have much of anything nice to say....and you know I would have had lots to say right away had I been impressed. I didn't necessarily see everything, and FL parks certainly set unreasonably high standards....

But here's what I did see: One small fog zone near the non-operational S&S shot ride (which was once again running *forcefully* the last time we were able to ride). A couple roaming characters - well made-up, enthusiastic, engaged. An outdoor walk-through near Hangman (now Typhoon or something) that I'd have liked to do, but the girls weren't interested in the *one* Haunted attraction, so we moved along. Now, on the way out, we did find a Haunted Swing walkthrogh, and that was fun, despite not truly going upside down.... ;-P

I know CF generally does quite a bit, and SF does too - even if SF has to upcharge some/most of the haunts to make up for the virtually-free admission.

But as far as Terror in the Wild, that's pretty much it. No shows as far as I know, no real Halloween orange lights, not enough fog, no pumpkins/jack-o-lanterns, no corn stalks. Now, it was their first night of Halloween event, and I'd really like to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wasn't expecting Knoebels or Howl-O-Scream, much less HHN, but thought there would be some more. Jill thought it might be due in part a culture clash between Herschend's family/christian vibe and Halloween...I can kinda see that. Then again, I'm wondering if Dollywood does something "special" for Halloween...anyone?

In the thread about Orlando Halloween events I mentioned how there are no events at either Dollywood or Silver Dollar City. I'm sure their Christian values and the fact that they're deep in the Bible Belt come into play there. In fact, I think I remember an email from DW advertising a Christian music festival or something for the fall. The big draw for both of those southern parks is Christmas.

Were there no rides at the park or was it business as usual.
Sounds like you're gonna have to wait for PPP...

Are we there yet? About 200 hours at this point....

A little surprised that Christ could beat death, but is afraid of The Great Pumpkin... (thankful God has a sense of humor....*wink*).
