Nominees announced in 2003 Coasters' Choice Awards

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

CoasterBuzz has announced the nominees in the 2003 Coasters' Choice Awards. You can vote today through March 28.

This year, for the first time, a coaster was nominated for Coaster of The Year without being nominated in its corresponding Best New category. That ride, Alton Towers' Air, joins Superman at Six Flags Over Georgia as representatives to B&M's new flying genre.

The usual suspects fill out the "best" categories while Twisted Rails defends its title for Coaster Site of the Year.

Vote now!

Maybe my brain's all screwed up, but don't we usually vote at the end of the season? Or am i getting Coaster's Choice mixed up with another poll?

Fighting for peace is like f***ing for virginity.

Please give peace a chance!!!

Voting is always in mid March...everybody has polls at the end of the year, so I guess Jeff likes to mix it up a bit.

Give 24 hours of war a chance...much more effective than just doing nothing. Peace has been given a chance for 6 months and nothing has come of the situation but an even more defiant dictator.

Im not trying to be a jerk, but some of those choices are crappy. I thought there might be a few more. The ones that stuck out to me was the "best food" and "best theme" catagories. I thought for sure SDC would've been included in those catagories. But really there needs to be more and better choices next year.

Who cares what you think? This is democracy, son. I don't like a lot of elected people either, but such is life. I wasn't popular in high school either, but somehow I still turned out to be fun at parties.

I thought that we, as buzzers, voted for the nominees?

Yes... you did. That's exactly my point.

Then those people that are complaining about the absence of the coasters that they wanted to see in the running should have voted, yes? (Probably the same people that cry about Mitch's polls being too complicated, then cry because their favorites ranked lower than they had hoped)

C'mon man i wasn't trying to start anything... I was just giving my opinion which i am allowed to do in a democracy.

...oh, and whats up with that not being popular in high school? That just flew right over my head.
