NoLimits simulator update includes land forming

Posted | Contributed by ace4242424

NoLimits v1.26 has been released. The new version includes the ability to create varied terrain. Water even reflects the ride and sky. A recreation of Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg is included.

Visit the NoLimits site.

This update has made it so when I start NoLimits, it sets a refresh rate higher than my sync range :(
The screenshots look great, will update later.

WOW! Here's something for those people that say theming on a coaster doesn't matter. Awesome graphics. I think I need a new video card though.... My GF2 made me switch my resolution to 1024x768...

the terrains slowed my speed down, time for a new card.

One Question:

how do ya get the reflections in the water?

You have to turn the reflections on in the advanced settings.

Now all No Limits needs the most is some improvement in the sound effects department, the wooden coaster type, an LIM launch... and this would probably be the best simulator of the bunch!!

--- Although, it would have been nice to build INTO the terrerian, but I guess that's nit picking.

thanks jeff, its the advanced setting in the simulator. i was looking around the terrain editor.

DawgByte, NL already has LIM launch.. it's a transport option. Create a transport section, press G, and the option is at the bottom of the dialog box where you can choose between LIM and Friction Wheels.

Wooden coasters are coming with v1.3 in a couple of months. And we'll certainly have some new sounds to go along with that. :-)

Until then Enjoy!

4D coaster options, ability to copy supports in the editior, and the ability to make shuttle coasters would be my big wishes to make this a complete program.

Phyter: That launch is a little cheezy though... all the coaster does is speed up. What I'm referring to is a little sound effects to go along with it so you can tell you're accellerating with the help of LIM's... not just the whoosh of the air & track speed!

It's a little lame, and version 1.3 definately needs a nice sound update in some areas. I just hope Ole updates it before Christmas. It'd be nice if he posted progress just to keep us informed how far he's come along and what to expect!

Ahh I see. I'll suggest it to the sound guy then. As for progress reports.. you're welcome to come by CoasterSims.com which is where msot of the NL crew hangs out. We'll be releasing exclusive shots and previews there but I cannot promise timely reports since that is strictly up to Ole.

WARNING: There is an issue in the newest update (v.1.26) that can do harm to the monitor. The download link is removed until I have fixed the problem! It is strongly recommended not to use the simulator program for v.1.26. I am trying to fix it as soon as possible!

On NoLimits Website!!!!!

It is the problem Joe McNally is having...

That can't be good!

I wish he'd give specifics... what harm can it really do? Is there some secret magnet included with the editor or something?

Dawg,

If the refresh rate of your video card is set higher than the max refresh rate your monitor supports, it can dammage your monitor. Since the new release changes refresh rates, I think this is what he is talking about.
