Does anyone have any idea what kind of ride this new ride called "Noah's Incredible Adventure" is? I can't find anything about it. Is it a water ride or a dry ride?

It's a Mack Mystery Swing (think Vekoma mad house, ala Houdini at SFGAdv and SFNE). It will be a dry ride (no water effects) and will be built in the front area of the park.

Noah's Ark website: http://www.noahsarkwaterpark.com

Edit: I should add that it's actually a combination of two "rides" to create one dark ride experience. The big final ride is the Mystery Swing, but there will be a Technifex Evelator to act as a preshow, which is (I believe) similar to the elevator simulators on Kennywood's Noah's Ark ride and Epcot's Living Seas.

The ride sounds very interesting. I might stop by during my trip to the Dells.

On a tangent - will there ever be another ride like Kennywood's Noah's Ark made? I'm surprised Ed Markey isn't all over this one, what with the steep staircase and flimsy rope bannister, the moving floors, darkness, etc. I would love to see a modern version!

Wisdom made a ship ride that a lot of carnival rides have. It is a piece of garbage, no big surprise since its a Wisdom product, but that is really the only newer version of Kennywood's ride (and it is a distant cousin at best).

Wow do I feel dumb!

Anyway, does it just rock back and forth or does it go upside down and how fast does it rotate? If anyone can answer these questions it would be great, Ive never been in a ride like this and being a Wisconsinite Im a little excited one of my favorite summer places is branching out into a non-wet attraction :)

The seats only rotate 30 degrees in each direction, but the "room" rotates all the way around giving the illusion that you are up-side-down. It does not rotate very fast, but it is a lot of fun and can be very disorienting.

Thank you for your interest in Noah's Incredible Adventure. The ride begins by taking 60 visitors on an archeological dig deep below the earth to Noah's planning room. Special effects and a dramatic story line will set up the impending storm and Noah's perilous journey. Guests then climb aboard the ark themseleves and sway back and forth to take on the storm full force as they ride on the creaking ship. This ride will be about a 9 minute experience. It involves an elevator aspect and a mystery swing. It is the only ride of its kind in the country. We can't wait to see you this summer at America's Largest Waterpark. -Noah's Ark

Yes, the "ark" portion of Noah's Incredible Adventure will be very similar to SFNE's (and SFGAdv's) Houdini ride, only the Six Flags parks have Vekoma products, and the Noah's Ark ride will be Mack. By "It is the only ride of its kind in the country", I believe they are referring to the fact that it will be the only mystery swing to also include a simulated elevator preshow.

I believe the ride will be located next to the back/express enterance (when you drive in near the Flamingo hotel). I was in the Dells last week and it appeared as though this is where the construction is, though it was quite dark and I couldn't really tell how much was done. I'm far more interested in Big Chief's new addition(s) (yes, judging by what I saw last week, there may be a surprise in store).

Well, I can tell you what I know. It appears that there are two very distinct areas of construction, one out by the road and parking lot (near Zeus's turnaround before the first drop) and the other in the very back of the park next to Poseidon's Underwater Go-Kart Track (to the left when you're looking at it). I'm fairly positive the clearing by the road is for the new "water coaster." The enterance will be right next to Zeus' enterance, as there's currently a path under construction that goes between Zeus' lift and Cyclops to the land clearing. The other spot is a mystery to me. I believe that was all pavement before this year, but it's now been all ripped up and completely leveled. My best guess would be that they're building another go-kart track there, but I don't have any solid evidence to support that. Then again, it could just be nothing, though I'm confused as to why they'd bother to level the land in such a way. It'll be interesting to see what happens within the next few weeks.
