No superman, I now must go to CP

I was planning on going to SFNE today, but since SROS is closed and looks like it will be closed for quite a while, I am wanting to make the pilgrimage to CP. Planning on driving this Sunday, going to the park on Monday, driving back on Tuesday.

How crowded in the park on Mondays? Was going to stay at Breakers Express, is there a cheaper place to stay?

I try to do a search on this topic but I kept getting over 75 returns.

Thanks! *** This post was edited by optoman on 8/8/2001. ***

I was just there this past monday and I have to say that CP is busier on mondays than it is on a Sunday or a Tuesday. MF's line was about 1:30 when I saw it at lunch time. Other lines included a 45 minute wait for Raptor, 30 minute wait for Magnum, and 15 minute wait on everything else. I saw Mantis's line was about 1 hour all day.

Being a season pass holder I will advise you that you should try for a tuesday or thursday, I go on those days everyweek and those are a little shorter lines than you'd find on a monday. Have fun at Cedar Point!! :)

If you can wait another couple of weeks, you'll have better luck with Monday crowds. August is always really crowded until the last week and a half, when schools get back in session. This is, of course, if you can't take the extra day(s) off work to go on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but I'd wait another week or two.

Anyone know of a cheaper place than $119 a night?
Look in the Getaway Guide. I'm sure you can probably find a hotel room for about half of that. Everytime we go we stay about 2 miles away. I think it's a Rodeway. I know there is a Ponderosa and a family fun center right across the street.
There is a plethora of hotels right off the turnpike going towards the park. I stayed at a Rodeway Inn and payed about $75 a night. I'm sure there's cheaper.

I think I am going to get a room at the Rodeway Inn. The next cheapest was the Econo Lodge but it was $10 more a night. Thanks!

Anybody else going to be there on Monday?
I went in May and there's a Budget Inn around the corner from Breaker's Express that was about $50-60 per night
Personally i like staying at the resorts, because you can do everything there a step away. Plus i like staying on the beach in the morning before we go in the park!

Yeeee Haaawwww!
Not sure, though have fun. wish i could go.
Don't know about Mondays, but went on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. MF and Mantis were the only rides with long lines and even they were not too bad. The longest wait was MF. About 1 hour and 15 minutes, but we also waited only 45 minutes once. Magnum and Raptor were almost walk ons. I also stayed a Breakers Express although I'm sure you can find a cheaper rate. If I had it to do over, I would have stayed at Breakers Hotel and enjoy the beach before the park opens.
