No re-rides on the Comet?? (HP)

I was just at Hersheypark tonight for some post-work riding. The park was completely empty -- everything was a walk on except for front seats of the Great Bear. Anyway... I decided to grab a few re-rides on the Comet -- very few people in line. I grab the back seat and have a great ride. I get back in the station -- nobody in line ANYWHERE. I ask if I can re-ride...
Operator: "Sorry, no re-rides."
Me: "Park rule?"
Operator: "No, just for this ride."

I walked out of the exit and stood there, watching an empty train make its way up the lift hill. Soo... my question to anyone who works at Hersheypark (or anyone that might know) is...

WHY are there no re-rides on the Comet??

I work at Hersheypark myself and I KNOW that this is NOT a park policy. I work in Wildcat Group and we give re-rides on anything as long as there is no line. This is just some idiotic and pointless rule that blue tag (middle management) must have made up for his group. Soo... stupid.

I don't work there, but I'm going to be there on Saturday...

Was the ride op mean? Maybe that's your answer...

Let the bears pay the Bear Tax, I pay the Homer Tax.
If you work at HersheyPark, why didn't the ride-op let you re-ride? Being a fellow co-worker... even if it is a park or ride policy... they should have let you re-ride.

It's a whole lot more trusting to be on the level of ride-op to ride-op compared to some pesky teen wanting to snag an extra ride to ride-operator.

The Great Escape... Soon to become Six Flags Adrondiak Escape!!!
I know it's not park policy since I was at Trailblazer tonight and I gave people plenty of re-rides since the park was dead.
My first visit is SUNDAY!!!! Can't wait for that Double Wheel! Boy do I miss Kings Island's!!!! Hope the Superdooperpooper is running too or I will become irate.

Arrow guy, when you say double wheel, do you mean the thing that looks like a double ferris wheel? if you do, i might be there operating it on sunday.
Yes the RARE Intamin Giant Double Wheel!!! Kings Island removed theirs in the late 80's, and the only other one I've ridden is the triple arm version that ran at SFGAm until last year. RIP. they are so awesome in their design and operation. Will do a model of one eventually!

I assume your real name is Susie??? Cool posting name too! I'll look for ya. We'll be hitting Lakemont, DelGrosso's, Hershey, WG, DW, and Knoebel's all in 3 days!

Yep, my real name is Susie. Look for me at any ride in Carrousel Circle. I may be at a kiddie ride in the morning because I'm not sure of my ride rotation, but I know at some point I'll be at one of the bigger rides.
Next time some crabby 16 year old gives you a line like that, don't get up and tell him to call security and management :> See who gets re-rides then.

Yeah, refuse to get up and just stay in the coaster, what a great way to get re-rides... or kicked out of the park.

Is it really that hard to walk around to the entrance?

Could you describe the ruckus?
