No more free beer at SeaWorld or Busch Gardens

Busch Entertainment Corp. is about to end of the longest-standing traditions at its theme parks: Free beer sampling. The company announced this morning that it will close the popular hospitality houses at all of its SeaWorld and Busch Garden parks beginning this month. The facilities will eventually re-open -- without the beer sampling.

I think they did away with the free beer thing at BGE several years ago, but I am not positive.

My first trip was in 1998 and one of the highlights was the Hospitality House, and the tour. The free beer was nice. :) Getting to attend Brewmaster's School was also cool. We also took another taste test to tell the difference between "older" beer and "newer" beer as far as when it was brewed.

I think by the time we got out of there we had had about 6 or 7 free samples each (and the sizes weren't half bad!) Plus we had a Brewmaster's Diploma, and several keychains, not to mention a slight little buzz. :) It was a cool little extra during our visit.

Too bad the Busch parks are doing away with it. It doesn't really matter to me as I don't go for the beer but I am sure a lot of people will make a fuss.

Might as well stick this here. Speculation in the press about Disney possibly bidding on Busch Entertainment:
