Talk about over dramatizing stuff. Either go to the events or don't, but don't act like you're on a park saving crusade to make yourself feel better.

You make decent points some of the time, but you really loose ground when you say borderline fanatical stuff about your home park.

When Marriott built both Great America's it had a Disney with thrill on it's mind. With that fact in mind and with no apology to anyone, it just so happens that many fo us feel strongly about the park. These parks have had a rich history and like Disney, Cedar Point, has Fanboys. They should be proud or speak their minds on the subject of entertainment closest to their heart. To be honest with it's current trend and if the right job opens up Sandusky here I come. Until and if that ever occurs 32 years and thousands of dollars spent. Countless rides on favorite coasters like Viper. Flats like Triple Play and Revy but most of all the years of friends laughter frustration at times jubulation at others times we go. Come Spring, Summer, Fall, Frightfest, each season brings change. Never will I feel bad about caring. Remember Opryland, Astroworld, Six Flags Ohio and New Orleans are now gone. By every means go and enjoy what each park has to offer. Spend time with your buddies you rode Maverick with or Raging Bull. We find no fault with people like us who take coastering and parks to another level. Our wish is all parks in the Midwest show a profit in 2008. Happy Thanksgiving to every person in ACE and the indusrty who give us things other then the usual to be Thankful for.

I think a boycott is a little midguided and misplaced. Great America has sent representatives to every NoCoaster as long as I can remember (this year is #28, I believe). And Bob Prentki has acted as co-coordinator for the event for many years, working with Marty Moltz, and with Rich McClowry in years past. Before that, he ran the AV and produced all those coaster videos before most of us ever had cameras and before some of you were even born. I'm not sure what Bob has going on with Great America, but the park has been very supportive of the event for many years, and the event would not still be around if it were not for Bob's volunteer efforts. A boycott to express support for one side or the other makes no sense to me. Just go and have fun already. Geez. *** Edited 11/19/2007 6:11:11 PM UTC by Seahawk & the Wave***
Well for us we take our stand very seriously. Not agaist ACE or Great America just Bob's hypocricy. When he bows out will come back. Instead I think I'll take Great America up on their Christmas Season Pass Promotion, 99 cent refills all season long, steps in the right direction.

Yet since 2005 several of us have boycotted the event because Bob Prentki who hosts it doen't even go to Great America!
Oh the horror!

Seriously, I can't even believe what I'm reading.

^Must be a group psychology phenomenon... :)
Shake your head, why should people go around with no opinion regarding parks of people. The best part of Bob not going as my best friend says is "He's one last person standing in line ahead of me?" Then again last year during weekday operation lines? what lines? Spend as much time money and energy at the park and then comment until then scratch your ass.

No one even understand what you're talking about it's so absurd. You're going to boycott an off-season event intended to get people together for good times because you have a beef with the guy donating his time to organize it?

Please, don't come to any of our events. You don't sound like you're a very fun person to hang out with.
