No Coaster Con

I was wondering what you guys think of No Coaster Con. I am thinking about attending it on Saturday but I will be their alone. I was wondering if its worth the $42? What exactly goes on at the conference? It seems like a long time from 9-1 and 2:30-6.

This, taken directly from the flyer, sums it up pretty well.

GUEST PRESENTERS

Keeping with the annual No Coaster Con tradition, representatives from Midwest parks and beyond, in addition to other industry representatives, will highlight the No Coaster Con agenda. As some speakers review the past year, it’s always exciting to look forward to the upcoming season. And the question and answers sessions give all attendees the opportunity to get an answer to that question you always wanted to ask.

I'm going! Who else?

Two friends, extremely in love with the same girl. She hates them both, but likes a third friend. (You think I'm advertising a reality show? That's my life!)

Last year, everyone there got a free one-day tix to PKI and a front-of-line-pass from CP for a one-time use. I also won a free subscritpion to Amusement Today as a door prize and PKI had an evening cocktail hour for everyone. Throw in a decent lunch, merchandise tables, lots of coaster videos, park presentations, and enthusiast friends and I think it was a bargain.

I don't know what freebies there will be this year, but it's a great way for Midwesterners to combat our non-riding winter season.

I still can't beleive that there is 8.5 hours of speakers there at the convention. Does anyone Coasterbuzzers want to meet up at the convention since I will probably be there alone. Email me if you want to meet up.

Millennium Force - Any other questions?

Funny news from the Con...

During the "Ace Feud" (think "Family Feud" about coaster related stuff) the "A-Listers" team which had Shivering Tim, Shaggy and Sean F. (plus two other people I don't know) had the question to name coaster clubs that 100 ACEr's came up with.

Suprisingly, CoasterZombies was 1, then ACE was #2, GOCC was 3..well, their team had an impossible time figuring out what #4 was (even thogh they were able to guess the rest).

You'll never guess what #4 was... COASTERBUZZ CLUB ...and they didn't think to say it! hahahaha... I wish I had my camera with a good zoom lens to catch the look of suprise/shock/horror on their faces when it was revealed... it was classic! (They did end up winning though.)
