NL update 9/13.. Beta testing started.

The next thing would be just to press 8 to reset the simulation.
Ok I'm having a problem too. When I go to open the installer it say version 1.3x cannot be found... Well I've been playing it so I know I have it. So I decide I'll try to "re-update" and download the 1.3 update. Well... now it says it can't find the 1.26 update. HELP!

You're screwed!

Try re-installing it from the beginning (not deleting your save-files, however) man... or at the very least, start patching it up from the first update (1.1, is it?) & work your way up to the 1.5 update.
That's my guess.

Well the only problem I have with re-installing it from the beginning is that I bought the program the first day it came out. I have my User ID and reg. # but I no longer have the original "NLSetup.exe" file to install it once I uninstall it. =o/ Anyone want to share?

This is a very nice update! So much more tweaking is available. Most noticable:

- Multiple track styles for each coaster type
- Severe brake manipulation, including wait period and launch
- Launch from station
- Shuttle, of course
- Schwarzkopf style loops
- Vertex panel

What I would like to see is the box-style track for looping coasters (Schwarzkopf, MindBender @ SFoG).

Yea... all that is pretty nice for the update, and in no way am I complaining...

...but the sound effects are the exact same.
...I know it's asking a lot... but it'd be nice in a small 1.51 update, to add a few sound effects or replace others to help replicate the true feel of the coaster...

Most notably, as Jeff has mentioned, is the LIM launch (something that Hyper Rails had), the sound of the holding break, among a couple other audio improvements.

I do like the graphical improvements among the better variety in trees. I think even the water reflections have changed for the better. I've been averaging 75 to 100fps, which is weird. It doesn't LOOK like 75 frams per second, but that's what it says.

Ah,

Here we are. My bad for starting another topic in this forum. For whatever reason I was under the impression that the thread was about beta testing and not the official release. Who would have ever thought?

Anyway, the lack of new sound effects doesn't really bother me. I usually play with the sound low anyway as it gets annoying sometime hearing the wind among other sounds.

I did wonder why they took out the "rail" view. That was the view I used the most. You can still use it, by zooming in with one of the fly views, but it just seems strange to me that they replaced it.

I accidentally messed around with the Steel Venom track too much. Now I can't get it to stop on the back spike for some reason. Would someone be willing to send me their Steel Venom.nltrack file over e-mail?? I would appreciate it!

Thanks

Has anyone else noticed the number of vertices on the Tropical Heat coaster that came with update? This coaster is ver well designed and all the transitions are very smooth. I'm wondering if there is something behind this that came with the update, or if those guys were just really good. Same thing for Wicked Twister. Those spirals are flawless. I tried to get the same effect when I modeled TTD, but I never could get the spiral right.

One thing I noticed was under "Display", there's an option that says "Heartline", which displays it in the form of a green line. I'm pretty sure this is new (if not then I've really missed out on that feature), and it's pretty useful. I'm very impressed with the new features and graphics! *** Edited 9/30/2004 3:15:45 AM UTC by Bakeman***
