NJ/Penn Coaster Trip

Hey All, I'm making plans for a trip I plan to take towards the end of June, but am facing a bit of a roadblock. I can hit 2 parks during the course of a week, and am debating between SFGADv, Dorney Park, Hershey Park, and Busch Williamsburg. Any reccomandations? I'd appreciate if pros/cons were given so as to help me decide. Thanks in advance. :)

One major deciding factor would be how much you like wooden coasters (vs steel coasters). If you really enjoy woodies then go to Hershey, as BGW doesn't have any and the ones at SFGAdv and Dorney suck. Dorney is a decent park, but has a relatively small coaster collection. SFGAdv has the largest collection, but is probably equal to BGW's in terms of quality. Look at the parks' coaster lineups, decide what appeals to you, and go from there. I'm sure you'll have fun at any of those parks.

Yeah, I agree with coasterdude. Three of the parks (Dorney, BGW and Great Adv) all have hypers, so if thats what you want then you're in luck.

Id recommend going to either BGW and Hershey or BGW and Great Adventure.

I feel bad suggesting Dorney, b/c it really is a great park, with great rides, but I feel that BGW would be better, and that you can get nearly the same stuff at the other parks that you can at Dorney.

Overall though, what really matters is if you have fun!

This is easy, Great Adventure for Steel and Hershey for Wood. Great Adventure has the best steel lineup of all your choices.....and Hershey has the best wood on the east coast.

You're so contagious, you turn ma pages!

For those who have ridden them, how are Talon and Steel Force. I hear Steel Force is in Magnum's ballpark, and Talon's layout looks very interesting. I've pretty much eliminated HP because it looks like I may hit it seperately later on in the season.

Dorney is very nice indeed, though Magnum won the World Series if you know what I mean! SF is a nice breezy ride, but my love interests there were Thunderhawk and Laser. Nothing like blacking out in those loops! On the other hand, Hercules made Sonny look good, not from roughness but from overbraking and a horribly slow circuit. It has wonderful potential though. Talon is pretty nice. Purty colors too.

I think BGW should be a definite no matter what though, due to its history and collection of classic Arrows (and a decent airy B&M). It is truly a beautiful park, with more to it than just rides.
