Nitro's queue

This is what the lights are. They seem to be simply decorative in nature.

I think they're for telling how long the line is. Do know why, that's just my theory. Might have something to do with QBot, as that would be the most obvious scenario, or for telling when the line is longest, as a survey.

This is just my opinion, I've only been on Nitro once, and I worndered the same thing. That was my reasoning.

It's a line sensor, to track approximately how long the line is. Depending on how many of these register movement, they decide how many trains should be running.

I really don't think so.... I'm on the nitro crew and we don't use the lights for anything... We use land marks to measure the length on the line... ex. we know that if the line is right before the que house is about a 15 min wait.... I'm almost positive its just for decoration

What I heard is that they are used to help you find your way through the queue at night.

I've got two words about Nitro's que

1) Pa

2) Thetic

Perhaps not a direct quote, but a decent enough synopsis from an old issue of ACE News:

"The money allocated for theming was instead used on an extra one thousand feet of coaster track. Any complaints?"

Yeah, I didn't think so. :)

Hey, I didn't know that! To me the coaster would need to have an extra 4,000 ft. of track to not be a yawner.

Sorry but it's just my opinion.

Sure we waited in that line Jeremy, but, when I think of lights, I think of objects that are actually outputting light, therefore, I stand behind my statement. If they lightup during the day, I don't remember anything.

C'mon, it's JERSEY fer cryin' out loud....just follow the red *light* coming from the cigarette of the guy in front of you...

Failing that, just go to any NJ landfill and pick up some of the "glowing stuff" off the ground...you should be able to see clearly in the dark for approximately 1 *half-life*....

Wow...and here I was, thinking that I'd heard every ignorant stereotypical statement known to man.

I'm not sure if you had a bad visit here or not, but (while I'll contend that the first half of your statement is relatively valid), it didn't seem to me that the rest of your statement was at all called for, especially considering that it was completely unprovoked. I'm most certainly not a glowing little green man, my backyard is most certainly not a landfill, and you are most certainly wrong if you thought you were being witty or humorous. Your clever attempt at sarcasm was lost on me, and probably also on a number of other offended Jerseyans.

Don't be offended DtLM, I'm FROM Jersey, lol. Oh, and the *cleverness* isn't in the attempt, it's in the reBUTTal....and if ever really BELIEVE that you've heard EVERY ignorant stereotypical statement, you need to get out more....

I really don't "attempt" to offend ANYONE, but I certainly wouldn't become defensive if MY "home state" were *attacked*....please, it IS all in fun here guys!

edit: I will check with the dozens of friends I still have in Joisey to see if they would be upset by such a remark, but I highly doubt it....I mean, Christine Todd-Witman (sp?) was the Governor of jersey, and became the head of the EPA....irony and sarcasm are NEVER lost on me....

a lot of people on this board really take some shots at the east coast- mainly NJ, NY.

thats not cool. Us east coasters dont go making unprovoked comments about Ohio people and their parks.

That's because we're all perfect. It's those slacker West coast people you should be ragging on.

lol, All the cracks on NJ dont bother me a bit- but I really don't see where they come from! I'm from South Jersey and I must say I find it just fine. And does anyone really say "Joisey" because I really have never heard anyone really say it that way- unless its all those North- Jerseyans, I dont know.

Nitro Dave- I must say that your Nitro count is simply amazing! I'm only upset because you have me beat!

-----------------
Nitro- 116 laps

Total Coasters in 2002- 175 laps

It's not the pronunciation of Jersey that's funny....it's the fact that I *STILL* get teased about saying "tawk" and "cawfee" and I haven't lived in Jersey in over 25 years.....we'll talk, we'll have some coffee, no big whoop....:)

Gilligan--

a) Yeah, it's mostly North or Central Jerseyans for some reason...I guess it's mostly because of the fact that we're in such close proximity to New York City, whereas most South Jerseyans are closer to the beach! Punks...;)

b) It was SUPPOSED to end at 113...but a fortunate twist of fate (and an unexpected sudden change of plans) led to a mid-afternoon trip and five more laps. The only reason I personally find my count amazing is that I live a good hour and a half away from the park and, for the entire first two seasons, I didn't drive! I had friends take me down often enough to bring the tally up! Of course, 2001 I only had 11 laps, which is distressing...but then you consider that I got 107 laps in 2002 and it's pretty awesome.
