Nik Wallenda walks Sky Ride cable at Cedar Point, photos on PointBuzz

High wire artist Nik Wallenda continued his tour of Cedar Fair parks at Cedar Point on Sunday. Wallenda walked more than 300 feet on a cable used by the park's classic Von Roll gondola ride, Sky Ride.

The walk was especially challenging, as the cable was a larger diameter than Wallenda normally uses. The wire walker also fought 25 mph wind gusts that forced him to pause briefly during his walk.

Cool. I would've been more impressed if he walked a wire between TTD and MF, right over a lagoon of man-eating Carp!

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!

...And now my video of the event is up.

What an amazing display of focus and talent. You'd have to be either 100% sure of your abilities or completely daft to get up there and walk the wire without a net. I can't even begin to imagine what he has to go through in order to mentally and physically prepare to do something like that. That's incredible.

It looks like they got some employees to hold down the stabilizing cables. That would be something for them to write home about. :)

Thanks for sharing the video, Dave.
