Night rides on Thunderhead at Dollywood, April 2nd and 3rd.

For people who can't make it to the ACE Spring event at the park, yet would like to get some night rides on Thunderhead, Dollywood has extended operating hours on April 2nd and 3rd to celebrate the park's 20th Anniversary:

Saturday, April 2nd: 9AM - 10PM

Sunday, April 3rd: 10AM - 9PM

This will be a great opportunity to catch night rides on Thunderhead and Tennessee Tornado. Dollywood isn't open late these days outside of November and December, so it is also a rare chance to experience some of the rides like the Slidewinder after dark.

Smart move by Dollywood. Like they really needed a reason such as celebrating the 20th anniversary to extend opening weekend hours;) Aren't the crowds notoriously bad opening weekend?

Yeah...but considering what most of the crowds are at the park for, all the rides are pretty much walk-ons. You just have to make sure to stay away from the Dolly parade routes in the park. :)

If you've ridden Thunderhead, but not at nite, consider going to this event.

If you've never been to Dollywood, consider going to this event.

Thunderhead, Its just that good...

I remember DW's opening weekend last year, and although it was packed, most of the people attending were there to see the Dolly parade.

I don't remember any of the coasters having THAT much of a line.
