NIGHT COASTERS

I'm with just about everyone else saying the Beast.

Two other noteworthys I like to ride at night are:

The Wildcat at Hershey. That thing just screams thru the turns at night and looking over at the Lightning Race from the top of the lift with the twisted tangle of lights is an awsome site to see.

Another of my favorites at night is the Phoenix at Knoebels. Somtimes they turn all the lights out as your going up the lifthill for a totally pitch black ride. The little hops between turn around seem to magicly turn into large hills. It's just fun in the dark.

Not Too Shabby For A Summer

Steel Phantom. Or maybe it's just because that's the only coaster I've ridden in the nighttime for a while. I go to parks when they are emptier, and they usually close at dusk during those times.

...But that's just my opinion. Unless it's also someone else's.
The best night rides in California IMO are Ghostrider and Ninja. Awesome!

Thank you Disney, thank you...
Millennium Force, The Beast, Raging Bull, and Villain. Those are my faves.
For some reason, Alpengeist at night was extremely disorienting. It was a sweet experience! I love Alpie, immelman, loop, then cobra roll in such a sweet, unexpected sucession. Ive ridden it at night alomost 15 times and it doesn't get old.

I also enjoy Steel Force, Wildcat, and Phoenix at night.

Son of Beast is also awesome to ride at night, because other than lighhts on the lift and one light that is sometimes on at the mid-cours brake their are no lights on the ride.
I think B:TR is great at night. Very intense. Raging Bull is pretty good too. And so is Viper at GA.

Magnum XL-200 - '01
MF. That whole section of the park just seems extra dark at night.

"One good thing about all this, with all this fresh air we're gonna sleep like babies"
Phoenix-A great town and a great coaster
The Beast and Magnum.

Thank you for riding America's Roller Coast
Well I love S:ROS at SFA at night, because beyond the lift, it's pitch black. It was also fun to do the negative-g trick on the third hill with some glow sticks. I also love Chiller at SFGADV at night. Although the ride isn't that good, it is great to see the whole park lighted up when you reach the 200 ft. peak of the Chiller. Medusa also makes for a good night ride, and so does B:TR when they shut the course lights off.

Parks for 2000: CP, Great Escape, Great Adventure, SFA, Islands of Adventure, Kennywood
Mine would have to be the Steel Phantom sitting in the front seat at night. It is the best.
Any coaster! Seriously though, S:ROS@SFA, or The Beast@PKI. Pitch black out there.:)

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
Not among the popular opinion but I like the Demon at SFGAm at night. They dont light this coaster up at all and the tunnel after the second loop is pretty wild because it does the flashing lights. Also the Demon eyes before the corkscrews shining red are pretty wild. This coaster was actually meant for night riding due to the theming and elements on and around it.

"SAVING THE WORLD BEFORE BEDTIME" Powerpuff girls
American Eagle - You can see the whole park from the top and the lighting is very bright.

Magnum - The Lake Erie view on the 2nd drop is spectacular, you also feel more seperated on the turnaround.

Millenium Force - With the lights on, you feel as you're part of a big event thrown in your honor. And the drop into the abyss is very memorable.

Screaming Eagle - Nice ride through the forest with nice lighting.

Mind Bender(SFoG) - Same as above
my favorite coaster at night is SROS at SFA and ROAR I also enjoyed MF it was cool riding that night in the back seat I also did it in the front seat and there was alot of airtime. I always wanted to try the Shockwave PKD at night. Anaconda is fun too. *** This post was edited by spencer scott on 1/26/2001. ***
