Now, with the rollercoaster and rides, they want to triple that.
Surprise, surprise! The city is throwing in the face of Mont Saint-Sauveur zoning laws that says any building in the city cannot exceed 9 meters high (that is around 30-35 feet high). Never mind the fact that the water park is already home to a slide tower that is 90 feet tall and a log flume that is 30-35 feet tall.
Residents, in a proportion of 87%, signed a petition against the amusement park project, even if they only heard rumors on it or never saw any drawings what the finished result whould be. They are also thinking its will be the annex of La Ronde (Six Flags)!
Now, Mont Saint-Sauveur president gave some solutions, like burying parts of the rollercoaster in holes and trenches, but even that, the city is objecting. They are now going to court with it.
Any reaction to this flagrant case of Not-In-My-Backyard?
Besides, wouldn't Thunder Eagle in a trench be more exciting? :)
