I actually had a miserable time at AA both times I went (bad service) and Rampage was only so-so both times. (Summer '05 and summer '06).

^^Well-played, Andy... :)

I think Waldameer, Beech Bend, DelGrosso's, etc. could both provide some insight as to how a spinning coaster can add to your bottom line as a smaller park.

I loved those Flying Super Saturators, but they really did end up pricing themselves out of the market for the small parks where the low capacity wasn't an issue....REALLY wish they'd gotten the price down near the $3-4M range... :(

P.S. Only been to VLand once, for a RRR event. That thing was running like CRAZY that night. One of my all-time favorite rides was getting several of the ops in the train after it was NICE and warmed-up.

It does run in insane mode at night...especially in the dark in the fall.

I hate that you didn't enjoy either trip to the park. Can you share with me exactly what happened in relation to the bad service you received?

Yeah, I remember those nights when I was Operational Supervisor those first 2 seasons. Enjoyed ACE during that ERT!

Yeah, I kind of wish they waited on bringing in Zoomerang so they could get a better steel coaster.

Well, they did get that ride for a really good deal since it was used. I thik too a spinning coaster would be a wise investment, but now there are bigger things to focus on. Good to see the park is doing much better.

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that sir, is an idiot. ~ Peter Griffin

Yeah, John they are doing better as far as attempting to grow in size, attractions and what not, but what I would like as well, if not more, is for guests to enjoy their total experience and have very little to complain or gripe about. I know you can't please everyone, but at least provide an atmosphere where you can overlook some things and still have a good time.
I'd rather see AA get a great set of flying skooters than any coaster. Combine that with excellent customer service and the park would continue down the road to excellence.

Well said thrillerman.

BTW, I went in a McDonald's here in T-Town, 'Bama and I saw a stack of free tickets. They are to Alabama Adventure. The tickets are for the Spring Fling Event that will be from Wednesday, April 18th to Sunday, April 22nd.

Each ticket is good for one free child's admission age 12 and under on all the days just mentioned and they must be accompanied by paying adult. This offer expires after Sunday, April 22nd.

I don't know how many of you will take advantage of this, but it's good for the park to offer some kind of deal right at the start of a new season. *** Edited 4/12/2007 3:27:02 PM UTC by Godsentone***

Hello to all again. Well, today is Opening Day for Alabama Adventure and I was wondering who will try to make the trip for Spring Fling? I will be there Sunday afternoon.

LOL, you had me REALLY confused. "Spring Fling" is the name of the annual event at SFoG every March.

I highly recommend Rampage to anyone who has yet to ride that beast. And catch a couple laps on "the world's fastest Wave Swinger". :)

And catch a couple laps on "the world's fastest Wave Swinger".

You aren't lying or exaggerating about that. I was totally unsuspecting when I cimbed aboard and... WOW! I've never been more drunk walking off a Wave Swinger. Best one EVAH!

For those reasons, you guys mentioned, I stay clear of that ride. I rode it as an employee, but only for safety checks and I was dizzy and nauseated as well.

I recommend anything that gets you wet, b/c it will be a HOT few days.
