Newer Hypers-Better than the Old One?

I too thought Raging Bull felt slow and not too exciting.  It's at the bottom of my list that includes Magnum, Apollo's Chariot and Desperado.  I'd put AC at the top.

So I'm not the only one who thinks that about Bull! Yeah, it has outstanding drops, every one of them, but since the tops of most hills are turn arounds, it lacks any additional sensations. It's just down, up, slow turn, down, up, slow turn. I rode it in the same week I rode Apollo and there isn't even a comparison to make!

Haven't gotten to the Bull or Desperado or PR (yet), but I'll take S:RoS over Maggie, Millie, Steel Force or the B&Ms.  I'm not sure if the Beemers just seem to lose too much speed at the crests to *send* me out of the train, or what, but for me at least, AC and Nitro were really nice rides, just not ALL that.  MF had the power to eject me MANY times over, but the only time I felt the tremendous airtime potential was the third hill - S:RoS had me in the air as much as in my seat. Maggie can still deliver, but those brakes at the turnaround REALLY need to be reduced, preferably eliminated.  I'm still left wondering how I'd feel about a ride on Nitro in one of those sexy Intamin trains....my guess is that it would be a VAST improvement!

Almost failed to mention Goliath, which I felt really delivered the positive G-forces.  After reading about the additions on Titan, can't wait for TX trip...

You're right Jeff, no comparison: RAGING BULL (#1) ALL THE WAY! :) Apollo didnt come close (#4) (Aren't varied opinions grand?)

ravenguy98, SROS at SFA is a good ride but nothing compared to SROS at SFNE. Superman at New england, has absolutely no wasted track, six or seven insane instances of airtime yet it still is incredibly smooth. SRoS at SFNE is the best hyper by far and enough proof alone to show how amazing the newer hypers are and can be. No older hyper is even close to Superman at SFNE, just not even worth comparing.
That all depends on what you're looking for in a hypercoaster.  Intamin's seem flawlessly designed and very...mechanical (I can't really think of a different word to describe them).  If you're looking for just an intense ride that throws you from your seat (Jeff) Bull isn't for you.  I really like bull cus of all the turns, you feel more like you're flying.  Oh, and the 1st drop on Bull is better than any other hyper (or giga) coaster IMO.  Lookin forward to a Giovanola...they do look like fun.

Ride the New England Bush!
I cant really decide what I like. I think Nitro is superior to Apollo and definitely to Raging Bull. But I love S:RoS at SFA. But I love the sheer speed of Millennium Force. I enjoyed the smoothness of Steel Force. Although, Magnum is getting a little bumpy, its intensity never dies...Well, as you can see, Im very undecisive..I will ride my first Gio hyper next year, so we shall see...I dont really rank coasters, for obvious reasons.

Dayuum, Your HOT!
I've only ridden 4 hypers, but I found AC to be much more enjoyable than Maggie. Of course, part of my enjoyment on rides comes from the fact that my most frequent riding partner (my fiancee) hates rough coasters, and whines constantly on Maggie. So, maybe if I didn't have to listen to "Ow! Ow! My back" every thirty seconds, I'd be less biased.

Airtime over creativity!

So ride Phantom's Revenge, and get both :)

I haven't met a "hyper" I didn't like, although I DO think some newer ones do eclipse the granddaddy of them all, Maggie. Of the hypers I've ridden (PR, Maggie, Millennium Force (blasphemy, I know, but I really do consider MF a hyper, the "giga" thing is just a marketing gimmick), Steel Force, Apollo's Chariot, Nitro, SFA's S:ROS), if I had to rank them Maggie would end up around the middle of the pack, behind PR, Nitro, and SROS.

So I guess that means I prefer newer hypers, but not ALL of them :)
