Newark Intl. - 3.5 Hours - Bowcraft Playland?

What do you guys think. On Thursday July 23rd I will have a 3.5 hour layover (6:30pm to 10:00pm) at the Newark International Airport. Do I have enough time to go to Bowcraft Playland? Or should I just accept the fact that I'm crazy for even considering it, get some dinner and read a book.

Eeek. How quick is Newark's security? I'm not from the area but seeing how close the park is it's a bit of a stretch. Would you take a bus? Are you just hitting the coasters and splitting?

I tried to figure out how to split my trip back from Hawaii and spending a day in LA to hit Knott's. It would have involved renting a car and a hotel room... I gave up.

Yeah just the coasters. I'm not sure I'd want to count on public transportation. It's about 20 minutes each way driving. I'm not sure how much cab fare is, but it might be cheaper to rent a car.

At Philly you'd spend that long just trying to get the rental...but Bowcraft was really cool and Crossbow quite the ride for their little park. Good operations, friendly staff. This kind of thing is a little stressful....but I'm still kicking myself for spending a long layover at Sky Harbor (PHX) without even thinking in advance about Castles 'n Coasters.

Jason;

I wouldn't trust route 22, at the time you would need to travel it. There are a decent amount of shopping centers, and traffic to contend with. Honestly, the big coaster isn't worth the hassle you would have to put yourself through to get to Bowcraft.
