New Zamperla roller coaster to anchor amusement park development in Alabama

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

What is initially being touted as one of the "longest roller coaster" rides in the U.S. will anchor a new theme park opening in the coastal Alabama by Memorial Day weekend. The ride will join 20 rides and two other "thrill rides" within 14 acres of a 520-acre development site in Foley, about nine miles from Alabama's beaches. It's included in the Poarch Band Creek of Indians first major non-gaming development in Alabama.

Artwork looks like a clone of Thunderbolt at Coney Island. Unless they string about four of those rides together it isn't going to be anything close to one of the longest rides in the US.

It probably won't even be the longest coaster in Alabama. It's probably one of those qualified records. Longest Zamperla Custom Steel Coaster in the US perhaps.

The longest Zamperla custom steel coaster in a state that starts with an A that's within nine miles of beaches.
