Saw it run in person, with employees, enough times to make me wanna cry.....shame they couldn't let the ACErs from 43 states get even ONE spin....

ah well, there always Six Flags, Paramount, and the "indies"....:)...someday, my hostility towards Knott's will subside I'm sure......someday, not today....

What kind of crap is this? Why should I have to join just to view the video? This kind of news item should not be submitted unless you plan on making it remotely easy for someone to view the new content on your website.

Alright well, the videos are that damn good, I guess it was worth it to join... but still... what's up with the membership only status?

Cool video, but music from RUSH?

OK, I must be out of the loop, Rollergator. I didn't know that ACErs didn't get Xcelerator rides at the Con. That's very perplexing, considering Knotts was the host. I don't know what to make of it.

ABH...."Host", that is WAAAAY too kind. That is a word reseved for use with "guest", as in..."I was a guest at Holiday World".

At Knott's, we were made to feel more like we were intruding....someone please remind me, parks DO actually invite ACE to hold conventions, right? Bad enough WE couldn't ride, but to have employees ride again and again, that was just plain MEAN. That was how they "closed" the convention. I never thought that a *reception* by the host park would fail to have a rep from the "HOST" park, but then again, I think they realized by that point that they had created what could only be termed a "hostile environment". Sad......

Sorry guys but it takes less than one minute to join, and it's the only way I can control some of the bandwidth the videos create. When I added the X video a few months ago, 15-20 gigabytes was consumed within a day that shut down the entire site.

I am just baffled that Brandon is actually hosting a video of a ride he said sucked (in so many words) so many times. What up wit dat, Brandon? :-P

It tastes like burning.

Hmm where did I say that?

Very nice video... the framing is excellent.

As for requiring membership, I can definitely understand where Brandon is coming from. When I had videos on the site, I was easily doing 8-10GB/day average, and 15-20GB/day when I submitted a Coaster Buzz news item regarding videos. When it reached the point where I was doing in excess of 100GB/month I decided to take them off completely. As Jeff has said many times in the past, bandwith is not free. So just enjoy the video.

Please... I have no sympathy for you guys. You don't host Badnitrus. Now there's some insane bandwidth. My T-1 was maxed at 100% (that's 1.544 Mbits, baby!) for about an hour when they posted the Batman Dark Knight video.

Unfortunately, not all of us can afford to run a private T1 line in our house that costs in excess of $1000/month. If I had the money, I would have a dedicated server connected to a very high speed connection. But I don't. So I have to live with what I've got.

Then again, if I did have enough money to make a monthly payment on a T1, why not forgot coaster websites and purchase myself a nice car and airline tickets to Ohio, Virginia, etc? ;)

Well if I didn't have the T-1, I couldn't generate the cash to pay for it. It's kind of like a chicken and egg thing.

But if I come up with a way to actually make money with it, I'll let you know!
