New woodie outside of Miami?

Greetings -

Today I received a rather excited phone call from my girlfriend, who goes to school in Miami, Florida. While driving on I-95 South into Miami, she was shocked to see construction of a wooden roller coaster along side the road. As she was driving, she didn't get a very good look at it, but she said that it was undoubtedly a coaster (and practically finished, as well).

Now, anyone that has been to the Miami area knows that they don't have any amusement parks past the occasional small carnival-style one. Thus, she is guessing that it is at a small park, and that it will be their first coaster. A quick search on the net revealed nothing.

My question is: does anyone know more about this coaster, including more details (ie. stats) and where it actually is? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
jt.
How about Grand Prix Race-O-Rama in Dania Florida. I checked out Mapquest and its only 21 miles from Miami. That would make it a suburb of Miami. Check that park first. Just checked the coaster database and this park has a new coaster for the year 2000. Most likely that is the one she saw. "Dania Beach Hurricane".

Actually its outside of Ft.Lauderdale.Its at Grand Prix race-o-rama.Its not really a park. Its more like a large arcade with a couple of go-tracks and a skycoaster. It was supposed to open in July but now on there web page they say August.

If you would like to see it while they are building it just go to WWW.XCOASTER.Com thats there web site.

On their website there is an article about the coaster.

"...A crew from the Nashville company
Coaster Works is working seven-day weeks..."

Has anyone heard of this company?

I guess what I should have asked is...
Has anyone ridden one of their coasters yet? If they design coasters similar to CCI's and GCI's, I am surprised that there is not more "buzz" about them. Also, how "new" is the company?

Just curious.

I'm interested in this new coaster at Dania. Looks pretty cool. I have to choose between this place or Sea World Orlando.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
If you have to choose between Sea World and Grand Prix,i would personally choose Sea World. There is so much more to do at SW than GP.
I spoke to an employee today and was told the coaster wouldn't open until October.

The Dania Beach Hurricane is 100 feet tall and 3200 feet long and is designed for airtime!!
