New Vegas Roller Coaster

Anybody know any information about the new coaster they are building in Vegas on the Stratosphere Tower. It is supposedly going to drop down one side of the tower. The only details I know about it are the following:

Height - 700 ft.
Speed - 120 mph

Any more information would be great.

Could this coaster be the so called Arrow "FISHHOOK" shuttle coaster?

If those really are the stats, then yes, that'd be an Arrow Fishhook coaster.

If this actually gets built...let's just say I'd skip Stark RAVEN Mad to ride it!

Millennium is spelled with two N's ;)
People I work with were just out in Vegas for business and they visited the Stratosphere tower to ride the Space shot. The space shot was closed so they rode the high roller. They are not coaster buff's or anything but the people they were talking to mentioned the new coaster. Looks as if this rumor is becoming a reality.

I have been hearing these "rumors" also, but i think that they are turning into "reality" because i talked with one of the people that have planned this new coaster. He didn't realease any official stats but the ones i have heard are similar too the ones BMCoaster mentioned. I have also read about this on www.thrillride.com. So we can hop that it is true. I really can't sit back and even try to imagine what it would look like.
What exactly is a "fish hook" coaster? Could somebody explain the layout and whatnot to me?

Anything 700' would definitely put me on that plane to Vegas. The parents are thinking about going, and though I don't really want to, I'd go just for the coasters.

(Note: Is there really that much stuff a 16-year old can do in Vegas? [Legally. ;)])

Well who wants to be married to the law? ;)
I think they are calling it fish hook because the rumored shape of the coaster would look like a fish hook.

700 feet? Im guessing you dont ride up the lift hill. That would need one big pull out.
Down the Forum page is a related topic - 'More Arrow concepts...' http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=3831

Regarding the Fish Hook, logic says this could be similar to Intamin's Reverse Freefall. However, 'fish hook' shape? Maybe a giant HALF Loop instead of a vertical tower. Again, this doesn't agree with running up the side of the Tower.

Time will tell...

LYnch--there is ALOT of stuff to do in Vegas besides the coasters....Star Trek experience, Cirque de Soliel (2 shows), Luxor has a motion simulator and an IMAX theatre, 3D motion rides at Venetian, Ceasar's has a great motion simulator too! Plus you have Venice, Paris, Egypt, NYNY to see :)
And please don't forget to come downtown and check out the one-of-a-kind Fremont Street Experience, a light and sound show that stretches on a canopy over Fremont Street for 5 city blocks. There are 6 different shows starting at dusk and running on the hour. Check for times if you go. Of course, you could always stop into my casino and drop a few dollars while you're there!

I haven't heard any official confirmation on the Stratosphere project as they are still digging their way out of some serious financial trouble. However, with a new hotel tower opening soon and the proposed coaster, Stratosphere could become a big player. It's all about location, and Stratosphere just doesn't have a very good area surrounding it.

Hopefully the north end of the strip will be more popular once the monorail extension opens... a few more years.
yea plus if you stay at excalibur, mgm grand, sahara, nyny or tropicana, you will most likely have a view of a coaste 9manhattan express or speed. plus you can go to circus circus and go to the adventure dome, although the lines get long later in the day, so go early and ride the blaster like 10 times its fun.
Hey Jackie, have you ever consider building a coaster at one of your hotels? Vegas could use some more coasters. How about a B&M since there arent any out there yet.
As a not so proud and never saw a return stockholder, it is true that the Tower is getting a mega attraction. Rumors are ranging from a freefall down the side to that damn gorilla being resserected to a launched coaster across the road. Promise you this, nothing will be ready for a while. Just go and spend money at the Plaza.

that gorilla idea cracks me up! I have been hearing that one for awhile. I think that we will see a TA2K with an extended ride path. I am not sure about the 700 foot thing, but if that is the case, I would pay 20 dollars several times to experience an attraction of that porportion!
