New TTD Pics on CP site

Dawnmarie - if you think watching concrete being poured is exciting you should see it dry! So mesmerizing you could stare at it for hours... ;)

When I worked for a school district 2 years ago, I got to watch concrete dry and get paid for it. Just to make sure no kids stepped on the concrete. To this day it is still the favorite job I have ever had. :)

I wonder if you can see canada from there...

Heck yea. Sometimes when there is no haze, you can just see Canada from Magnum.

Gemini just looks tike a little model now. Like you could pick it up and set it on an HO train layout.

I wonder if they will have a defibrillator handy. This ride will get the old ticker going.

Just waiting for May 4, 2003. :)

These are the photos I have been waiting for. I remember when I first saw the pictures of MF looking down that first drop - I thought how could an everyday ride op walk up there if necessary. I know if I wasn't strapped in the train I wouldn't be that high.

Now here is the most freaky high coaster in the world - with a service/rescue/observation platform and I ask again - how do they employ ride ops to go up that high.

I could see training for TTD as being something out of the armed forces.

Thank goodness the station is closer to the ground.

Duh, it's at CP afterall. ;)

Joe, who wonders how many people thought the same thing I just wrote lol

I would go up there any time any day. Although it would probably be the most scary moment of my life, it would be well worth it. How do they get people to volunteer to go up there? Most people would never go up there. Me on the other hand, would just sit up there and enjoy the view.
i can't wait to ride this thing the pics are awesome

Wow, who ever thought the pic from The Register could be put to shame.

Let's see, as you crest you'll see Toledo - hmm, maybe the view is not so good... ;)

I just hope they provide earplugs for the kids that are in Camp Snoopy. =:^)

Check out how ominous of a shadow it produces! It goes all the way to the end of the peninsula!!!!

But Sean, you have to remember that at 420 feet up...nobody can hear you scream! :) Perhaps that was factored into it's proximity of Camp Snoopy and the height needed to be out of earshot. j/k ;)

What GREAT pictures....

So my question is...

After looking at the photo of the concrete being poured and seeing Mantis in the background, do we know if it has been painted yet? I thought I read that work had started...but it looks pretty faded still in the photo.

Maybe the colors in that photo are just washed out?

Those pictures just take my breath away... 420 ft spiralling down to the earth couldn't have ever looked any better.

Ummm....check your trig. textbooks. At the right time of day, pretty much anything's shadow is going to be that long. This is, of course, not to say that I'm not impressed, but my awe has nothing to do with the shadow.
