New Trainer Desperately Needed!

I think we need a new trainer very bad for RCT2! I hate going through the park, and manually mowing the grass. Because them darn handymen suck. Also, the water gardens feature is needed. I miss those 2 features the most. If a trainer came out with those 2 features on it only, I would be very satisfied. The money feature is needed at times, when you download a scenario with not a lot of money, then it is helpful. Other than that, its useless in RCT2, with the scenario builder.
You know I've always wondered why they didn't put something in the tools where you could pay gardners an x amount of dollars every month and the grass would be cut and the gardens watered.

Does anyone actually bother to play the game?

Ya, I love the game! No big deal. I have no trainers or no patches except for drexler only to upload/download. Other than that, the game is fun as it is!

Actually, yes, I "PLAY" the game. I just can't find enough time to mow the grass when you have a humongous park, and many things to do. It helps a lot!

Edit: Jeff, there was no need to be smart about it, it's just a simple request. If you dont like the idea, dont reply. I know this is your site, but sometimes I like to boss people around, especially when they are being smart about something they need not to reply about.

I'd also like to see the feature that lets you change trains for different track types, adjust the number of cars per train, and the operating modesof the coasters

Jeff maybe we PLAY the game differently than you

Ha! How is it that you can always throw the perfect comment out there at exactly the right time? I often wonder the same thing myself.

John13601 has a very good point, but it seems to me that if you're worried about the grass being mowed vs unmowed then you're missing some of the more fun aspects of the game.

I still don't see the point of a trainer for RCT2. To each his own, I suppose. shrug

If you care that much about the perfection of your grass, use a different terrain. Just use dirt, or sand or something. I know that handymen are generally troublesome with these kind of things, but either hire more to do it for you, or use another terrain type.

Actually, with grass, if you have grass and use the terrain menu to click on top of that grass, it goes back to a "normal" state (not a mowed state though).

Well if the game was more realistic than I wouldn't use a trainer, but the way it is now...I can't stand to play without one. The handymen get nothing done, the peeps won't ride hardly anything intense and i like to have all the rides available (somewhat relieved with scenario editor). One of my biggest beefs is rides breaking down. How realistic is it for a ride to blow up after 3 or 4 years of operation...especially a carousel?? Not very...like the make rides new option. Oh well..I guess we all play differently.

Wow! I disagree with almost everything you said Martin.

1. I have no problem putting butts in seats. As long as the intensity is under 10 peeps will ride. If you're building coasters (or other rides) with an intensity of over 10, you're expecting peeps to ride something that would cause bodily harm - not too realistic.

2. It's a sim. In game terms rides breaking down are fairly realistic. Plus if they didn't breakdown often, the little challenge the game offers would be entirely lost. In sim style games numbers aren't always accurate, but rather representative. I don't know very many parks that would be packed and have guests complaining of crowding with only a few thousand people there - it happens in RCT. My reasoning it that it's a sim and peeps are relative. For more realistic numbers add a zero to the end. There's no way in hell you're going to build a world class B&M sit down for under $40,000 - but in RCT it's not a problem. The money isn't meant to be actual numbers - it's representative.

3. You're right. We all play differently and no one way is "right" - I think the fact that you can approach RCT so many different ways is what made the "little coaster game" one of the hottest titles of all time.

However, I still think the game Chris Sawyer had in mind when he did the original RCT and the game it has become are two totally different creatures. My guess is the original idea was more emphasis on park management, money control, etc. - but most players seem to want a sandbox mode with no goals and no challenge. Nothing wrong with that - creativity is a gift, but sometimes I like to use the left side of my brain too.

Yea I was playing but now I need a Drexler patch because I guess my park got too big. The stupid cheat protection codes won't let me load my park. I didn't even cheat at all on that park.

I wish TRG would come up with something to clean up the paths. That is the thing I miss the most. Paths get really dirty (Especially on Inverted coasters) too fast for the handymen. I think it becomes a hassle when you have a Mega park with 60+ rides, new rides to build/maintain, and still have to worry about petty things like mowing grass and watering gardens. Plus if realism was the goal then handymen would use the mowing trucks as opposed to the hand driven, which cleans one tile at a time.

Antuan, If you set a handyman's work area to around the exit of a very intense ride most of the puke will get cleaned up by that handyman. I also suguest puting a First Aid Kiosk right near the rides exit. This will really keep those paths clean.

Anyway I found a trainer that can hack track styles, adjust chain lift hill speed (My favorite thing about it), and modify ride operation @ http://rct2trainer.tripod.com/. I preaty sure you guys are looking for a trainer like this one. I know I was. That chain lift hill speed setting can be helpful for a low capacity ride like a wild mouse coaster. Make sure you download the dll files too, otherwise it may not be able to run.

Dude... if you interpret one line like that as "smart" I suggest you either buck up or never look at the Internet again. If you're going to put yourself out there, get ready to deal with it.

I agree with everything Gonchar said. I also have no problems with handymen. Give them a zone and let them go at it.

What gets my goat is that people want trainers and cheats because they think the game is flawed, and that's what I take issue with. The game works exactly like it was intended.
