new theory: for 2003 @ sfgam

I think they will get 2 new coasters in 2003. For the following reasons.

1. With the removal of cajun cliffhanger powerdive and the new orleans grill there is a sizable amount of space.also if shockwave is really being removed there will be even more space much much more

2. a superman ultimate flight clone would barely occupy half of this huge vaccancy

so either shockwave will stay and they will get a flyer where power dive cajun cliff hanger and new orleans grill or shockwave will stay and they will put the flyer in between whizzer and viper or shockwave will go and there will be a huge new flyer

Shockwave you Nazi
(the first drop was awesome) other than that uhhhhh good riddance

So whats the second coaster oh wise one
probably either an intamin rocket or something with a smaller layout that is in the case of shockwave's departure

Sorry to disagree, but I really don't think 2 coasters is likely. You'd be lucky if you got one. SF's stock is doing poorly and their earnings are down, so spending will probably be down also. A B&M flyer is no cheap ride. S:UF, without a midcourse block brake, runs three trains. Given the complex station, three trains, brand new design, this is going to be an expensive ride should it be built. I would venture to say that it would cost almost as much as V2 and Deja Vu combined, if not even more. Any other coaster would easily push spending way over the top, and is highly unlikely. SFGam is the cash cow of the SF chain however; that might be the only reason it could get 2 in one year.
they secured financing before announcing whizzer's presumed closure.

Financing for two coasters? How do you know this?

probably not two but for the flyer yes

Uh.. the people that don't know are the ones that just keep on talking I suppose.

I sincerely doubt TWO coasters as well ... and, as I read this thread, I swear it was like Deja Vu all over again

(from another thread about SFGA and "what" they might be planning......)

Wow! You guys are the best...thanks for the info. Since you all were so quick to answer those, let's try a couple of more.... 11. Conspiracy theory about the Whizzer ... does anyone else think it's "coincidence" that SFGA suddenly withdrew it's "The Whizzer is history" campaign due to "public outcry" ... while, all along, they have obviously been clearing out the Orleans area for a new ride (removal of Power Dive, Cajun Cliffhanger AND have you noticed that the Orleans Grill restaurant-once a BUSY and POPULAR place-has been closed for quite some time)? Seems a bit odd to me is all.

As others have suggested, it seems like the imminent death of the beloved Whizzer may just have been a publicity stunt and nothing more ... if not, why would they be clearing out the Orleans area as well as getting the Whizzer acreage cleared?"

-EDIT- Yes, I too agree that those who claim to KNOW something when they really don't is a bit bogus....but the reason this wonderful site exists is to gossip, speculate and share ideas/experiences with fellow enthusiasts ... so, I try not to bash others for speculating, we ALL do it.

Well, new rides are also proven to increase attendance, which is something SF will want. Not only that, but if new coasters are being announced all over at SF parks near everyone, chances are interest in the company would increase, too. So they will want to give everything they got, as this will be a crucial year coming up. However expecting an Intamin rocket and a B&M flyer is, I think, too far.

You kill one of these Sfgam threads and two pop up in it's place. A topic just like this got closed already today.

I believe that 2 in 2003 is very likely. Our park IS the cash cow of the rest of the chain. It is time that something was given back. I think that If shockwave is removed then there will probably be a new themed area there with a B&M floorless and a wildmouse. If not i think that Yankee clipper will be removed for a flyer and put a wild mouse where power dive is. Again i dont claim to know anything and i havent talked to the lemon chill guy, but i think that it is time that the workhorse of the sf chain gets something

What do you get when 3 companies become one? Something B&M and Intamin can't handle.

We get a new coaster every year and 2 years ago we got 2 coasters... How can you say we need to have something given back???
2 coasters is highly unlikely when they barely have room for 1 big one. Unless you want a used shuttle loop and a wild mouse.

-----------------

We are in the top 3 parks with sfmm and sfgadv, we also make more than them. But when it comes down to getting coasters we dont get any, before last year it was a joke. In the last 5 years SFMM 6 SFGADV 5 SFGAM 4, It doesnt add up. Also the kind of coasters dont add up we all got a hyper. Besides that we got 2 shuttles and a kiddie. GADV has gotten a floorless 2 sided shuttle a family and a kiddie. SFMM has gotten a stand up a 4d a shuttle a family and a kiddie. That is a BIG difference.

No way! You don't think that it might have been closed for a reason, do you? This topic has been beat to death. Stick a fork in it, it is done. No one will know anything for sure until the park makes an official announcement and that is probably 3 months away at best.

Wheres SFGrAdv's 5. Nitro, Medusa, Both chillers, and a kiddie coaster, come on. You recieved more than enough, and where are you getting your figures for Cash cow, GrAdv is tops is attendance. So your theory is based on nothing according to Six Flags.
