New Six Flags in New York

I hear they are building a new park somewhere near Poughkeepsie.

Does anyone know anything more about it?

Do they plan it to be a coaster park or water park?

Will it have any world-class rides like Nitro?

Even though it is many years away I am excited about it because it will be closer to me and easier to get to from NYC than S.F.Great Adventure in NJ.

Pssst... hey... azo... since you are from around the NY area, there's this really neat bridge in Brooklyn that you might be interested in buying. I can get it for ya'... cheap too.

Do you have any idea how many cars cross that bridge? You could make a fortune!

Yeah, yeah... and if you do buy it... I you can move it and place it on a nice little plot of land in Florida... Yeah.... and I can get that for ya' cheap too. And no, no.. its not swamp land...no... I like to use the term "wet lands"... yeah... "wet lands". Besides, what does it matter... Its a freakin' bridge... what better place than over a "wet lands"...

Thats been a rumor around here for a long time. (I live in Beacon, about 5 minutes from it) The rumor says it would be built in on old mini mall lot. It's a bunch of BS. (I wouldnt mind it though :))

No, I think this is for real. My friend drove by the site and it says something to the effect of "future site of Six Flags" with the SF logo ....

It's at LEAST 3-4 years off from being open.

However, I put in a call to SF and will let you know when they reply with an answer.

Besides, I don't need a bridge, I already bought the Holland Tunnel!!

azo, you done heard wrong. Even if there is going to be a park in poughkeepsie, it ain't Six Flags.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Major bummer!

Thanks for the info.

I live up here. If something like that sign was put up, one of my friends (or anyone at my school for that matter) would let me know because I'm the coaster freak. :)
