New Six Flags Commercial Shirts

SFGAdv was selling shirts with the dancing old guy on them today. Of course I just had to buy one. The lady at the cash register said the shirts were big sellers so far. She has even been asked by a few people if the old guy would ever be at the park, sort of like Bugs Bunny. Just another example of how the popular the commercial is. Feel free to post comments.

I think they've finally got a winning marketing campaign. It does sound though as if the promise to improve operation so far this year has been a real mixed bag from park to park.

In my experience, operations at GAdv. have been on the rise, overall. Yesterday both sides of Chiller and Viper were running as well as racing Rolling Thunder. GASM was running the best I've seen it. In fact, the only coaster that wasn't running was Blackbeard's and pretty much every other major coaster had 5 ops.

I would've liked a nice shiny new coaster, but the changes in operations and staffing have definitely made me more willing to come back to the park (over and over and over).

Today only the left side of Rolling Thunder was open with the right side testing.

Red train was having a bit of trouble with the restraint unlock on 1-2.

is that train 1, car 2, or is it car 1, row 2 ?

I never understood the 1-3, 3-1 writing, as i have only seen it at CP

In regards to the success of the marketing campaign I saw several people at SFGAm today doing the old guy dance. I also saw darn near a train load of people on Viper doing the whole arm thing from side to side like in the commercial. Six Flags has a winner here no matter how much people say they hate the commericials...

Certain victory.

Correction,Bob, how much Enthusiasts hate the commercials...

Hmmm, I know what I'm buying when I go down there in June! :)

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
No fair! I want an old guy shirt! I am coming around to like Geauga Lake under CF Management, but dang it, I want a old guy shirt!

I dont understand why people dont like this commercial, I think it captures/amplifys the excitement we all have of visiting a theme park.

The only think I disagree with is the whole "there is a time for work and a time for play" belief, there is never a time for work ;).

Well, there is if you work in an amusement park!

^ Word, while working at Six Flags, everyday is "Playtime," or at least that is what our shirts say.

Here is my question; New Six Flags commercial versus the Universal "Surrender" commercials, who wins?

River King Mine Train Op 2004
Mr. Freeze Op 2005

I like Cheap Trick quite a bit better than the Venga Boys, personally.

Speaking of that old guy...they had him at SFMM back in April for a dance competition thing. Winners received park merchandise and season passes among other things. It was co-sponsored by a radio station I believe.

...and such

That commercical is great... even everyone at my school talks about it, and we're even in Iowa. It's working.
Matt, Cheap Trick, no question.
My daughter absolutely loves the old guy and even starts trying to dance like him when she hears the song on TV or at the park.

Question: Will the old guy ever actually talk? :)

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

I hear people humming the song all the time at school. And I get to hear it every time I call Operations or Employee Services and get put on hold. Always brightens my day and makes me laugh though.
