New Seatbelts on Drop Zones?

During my last trip to Carowinds and in a TR of PKI, I noticed that the seatbelts on the Drop Zones have been changed. They are now a bit smaller and require you to push in two levers to release the seatbelt. They do seems a little bit more difficult to get out of. However, at Carowinds they were longer than the old ones, which I really like because the ride ops let us ride it with the harnesses as far up as the seat belt will go. Does anyone have any idea y these new seat belts were put in?
I hope everyone of those ops gets fired than. Someone has died on Drop Zone at PGA before, and if they keep letting this happen, someone is going to die again.

With the news of the fatality on The Raven I can understand your concern. But even with the harness as far up as possible, it would be impossible for me or any of my friends to escape the harness, even if we tried. I'm not ready to take a chance with my life to get a better thrill. I'm just wondering why they changed the seatbelts.
Jason, you're referring to the infamous Austrian-made seatbelt that can be found on all of the Intamin hyper trains. I've helped out many a person to get out of those seatbelts on S:ROS at SFA. In fact, I helped someone today:) Drop Zone at PKD came with those seatbelts already, so maybe they decided to add them chainwide.
