New Season question

Hi, I am planning on going to SFMW on March 16th which is the day after my 15th birthday and the first seasons openeing day. I want to know if the park will be packed since it is the first day of the season and it is on a Saturday?

I know so much about roller coasters. Have any qustions just E-Mail me at agomez@afes.com

I can't speak for SFMW, but usually when parks open for the season it's not crowded at all.  The people don't start coming in droves until closer to summer.  I would venture to say you should go ahead and go.
From what I hear SFMW wont be a mob scene, I mean it's practically walk on even if you go in the summer so your probably safe to go on opening day.

SFMWManiac87, so SFMW's coasters are practically walk ons in the summer?  That sounds good since I'll be going there for the first time in August.
Yeah everytime I go there is never more then a half hour wait for Medusa in the middle of the day. In the morning (for about 2 hours) its like 0-5 minutes. Roar might be a little more but not by much. I haven't been there when V2 was open so I can't say about that. Maybe someone with more experience can help me out?

Usually it's not too bad on the first day, unless you're waiting to get your season pass processed (oh the horror).  Expect light to moderate crowds with waits usually hitting no more than 30min. if the crew working the ride is slow (Medusa was like this last season...let's all hope this won't repeat).  V2 however can vary from 30min. - 45min. If it breaks, add 20min. or more.  If they're using FastLane (god forbid), your guess is as good as mine.

Weekends can get bad as the season progresses, but under most circumstances, nearly everything is a walk-on with waits never exceeding more than 45min to 1hr. (this was V2-note add 30min. per breakdown).  Waits on Medusa usually never exceeded 45min. and were usually 30min. for the front, practical walk-on on weekdays.  Also expect crowds during events like the 4th of July (add 30-45min. on those days).  If you really want to walk on everything (including front row) at any time in the season, go on a weekday, any weekday before June and after August).

I'll be there opening day as well.  See you there Mar. 16. :)

Off season too long...can't go on...must ride coaster...

I went to SFMW in August last year. The parking lot looked packed, so we were expecting the worst.

We entered the park and headed to Medusa, and nearly died when we got to the station and saw about 5 other people in there.

It was basically the same with all the other rides, except Roar, which had about a 5 minute wait. I didn't mind though. I would wait 2 hours for Roar. I love that ride. It's better than Ghostider IN MY OPINION.

So yeah, I doubt SFMW will be crowded. I think that 10 dollar parking fee scares everyone away. :)

Oh yah, I forgot about the parking fees up there.
Could your headline be anymore vague?

Until you get a parking space with your own name on it, you're still part of the GP.
