New Ride coming to Lesourdsvill+Mini TR

As I forseen, Pugh is adding another ride in the old location of the Tempest. The ride is called Windjammer or Windsurfer and for what I can make out of the parts there it looks simular to a Break Dance. It has 20 two seater cars.

TR: I stopped by the park for their new $1 Thursdays. I had just visited last friday all day and still had the desire to go back this soon :)

I bought a $1 admission ticket and 10 tickets for $11 Total and got just over 5hrs of riding in on that :)

Eagle is running even better than friday with airtime returning to the second hill and ejector on every other hill. I like the Villain alot but for the %100 ride, I got to give my endorsement to Screechin Eagle as best woodie in ohio!

They continue to do a ton of work around the park. I talked briefly with Mike Meddford and he was anxious for our now set ace event there. He seemed very nice and every time I have been there I have either seen him or met him inside the park. (He's the park spokesman and head of GR) He told me the Pirat ship may be up by next weekend. It has been gone over 100% repainted and lots of new parts to guarantee a long life at the park (Matter of fact thats what they are doing to all the rides)

Also removed is the old kiddy bumper boat ride that was rotted out long before coney closed it. (This has been removed since last friday) I look for a flatride here in the future. They have started to work on some of the landscaping which has a mixture of weeds from 2 years of neglect.

All in all I had a great time in 5hrs for $11 and every thursday is $1 rides $1 addmission including the coasters and flume.

I did notice one thing in particular that they just may be overlooking that is potentialy very, very dangerous. The Serpent, (Galaxie) On the north end is completely accesable from just walking up to it. yes there is a rail on the ride itself but anyone could put a arm right in on the track. I think I'll call and let them know about it as I would not anyone de=limbed by a coaster car.

Chuck :)

Son of Beast, The Beast, and The Villain are hard to beat, but Screechin' Eagle indeed is my favorite wooden coaster in Ohio. It has the perfect "roughness" I would want from a wooden coaster, the airtime makes you wonder why they don't call this a stand-up coaster, and the reridability and short line factor are off the charts! I had a blast both times and went and can't wait to go again!

I'll have to say The Serpent was an excellent galaxi coaster as well. I think the park will keep slowly building itself up and hopefully they'll be able to get a new coaster in a couple years. A wild mouse would be a great addition!

Thanks for the update Chuck!

Hey Chuck, do you think it's worth the money to go and buy an all day ride pass? I really miss those flats and want to try them.

It seems like Pugh and Couch are really cleaning up the place. It is great to see such pride taken in this park. It's fate has been like a ride on it's coaster ever since the bathhouse fire after being bounced between owners. This looks like the stable group needed to operate it.

I was not just surprised, I was astounded when I arrived there today. The parking lot was 3/4 full and the park was busier than I had seen it in the past even with the picnic buisness. Last friday had a good crowd but this was impressive :)

I would go for the all day pass if you plan to ride everything and some things more than once. Even if the park is busy, It is still small park style like IB or Knoebles with only a ride or two wait except for the Flume or Serpent. Both those can be about a half hour but Eagle even with two or three Q's full was less than 10 minutes. The all day ride pass for Fri-Sun is $19 which includes addmission and swimming and mini golf are included in that price. The addmission and ridepass for thursdays are $15.95.

I am not sure if this is right but the website says that thursdays-sundays in september will be $9.95 for all day.

Some weird feelings I get on the eagle. In the front seat the turn around drop feels like 0'g. you kinda just float down the hill but every other one is pop up ejector and the whole return is latteral ejector air :)

The backseat is pretty awesome as well with great pullover air and latteral pull over. I have now sat in all the seats except the middle car and the forces are awesome in all of them. If I remember right 2-2 is very smooth with hardly any air.

Also, Chuck is there a drop off area, if people are being dropped off by parents who won't be staying at the park.

Yes Ninja, I purposfully looked for that today remembering your question. yes, There is a complete drive in-turn around loop for dropoffs and pickups (Newly paved), You can be dropped off and picked up right at the main flagpole :)
