V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there! *** This post was edited by TrBiggar on 5/2/2001. ***
Thanks for the help.
The Iron Wolf DID get new restraints. They help a little bit, but don't expect a smooth ride.

Yes, Iron Wolf did get new restraints. The old ones are similar to the ones on the Vortex standups at the paramount parks. The new ones are similar to the Riddler's Revenge/Mantis restraints.
New trains could possibly help.
I guess that is why I didn't have a problem with it when I rode it last year. It was one of the best rides I went on that day!

Iron Wolf can't be beat! Deja Vu and V2 all the Way!What else is there to Say.
uuuggh!

I can't stand those new restraints on IW. They feel like someone is banging on both sides of my head with one of those hollow plastic bats.

I enjoyed it as well.
I too do not have a problem with Iron Wolf. I hate when people bash it, I think it's a really good coaster. If your a wuss, then don't ride it. That's my thought.

It's not a matter of being a wuss. It's a matter of enjoying the ride without pain. My wife can ride IW with no problem; I cannot. I get off and my ears are red and sore from the banging and I have a headache. I'm happy for you if you can ride IW. I like the ride -- not the pain.

I suffered minimal headbanging on the ride. IMO, I think its one of the more intense coasters.

If I wanted to get hit in the side of the head with a plastic bat, I'd pick a fight with a group of the neighborhood kids :-) I'll get on a painful roller coaster to a point. That point has been met with Iron Wolf. I like getting off a ride without swollen ears for the rest of the day.
I asked last year an Iron Wolf operator if they got new trains and she said yes, they are new. So there you go, the whole train is new.
Yesterday I rode IW in the front row. Ouch! The restraints are bumpy where my ears hit it so my ears got scratched pretty bad. Then we went in the second to last row. Wow, what a great ride. Back row was good too. Just don't try the front row.

Bull rides: 6, Viper rides: 5
I think that it's the ride that makes the ride painful. I don't think that they can fix that. The new restraints don't help much (IMO).

one little note: I've never heard of a coaster simply getting new restraints. if the restraints look new then the best bet is that the trains are new. then again I've only been on this planet 18 years so correct me if I'm wrong. last year the new trains were a huge improvement. this year seems a little bumpier than last, though. still I have yet to come off Wolf complaining. its a little rough, but still a great ride. and for the company's first coaster I think its pretty darn smooth.
Those trains from last year were not new. They took off the restraints and added new ones. I thought they were too, but I looked down at the yellow foot symbols and I saw that they still looked worn down from years of use.
