New POV at CP.com

Just wanted to let everyone know CP put a POV on the website. Here's the link

It's a pretty cool video to add to the collection. It shows TDD and a couple flyovers by a heliocopter. It shows it launching a few times. Nice! I can't wait to ride!!!!!!

Just a warning, the file for Quicktime High is huge so I'm assuming the other files are as well. The quicktime one is 22MB.

If it ain't that big why'd it take 45 minutes to download with DSL? It is a very good video. It gives an idea of the ride without the theming.

No, 22 MB is 320x240 at 30fps. That's high quality. It doesn't need to be a bigger file when it's well compressed. I ought to know... I compressed it.

The medium QT is 6.4 MB and the Windows Media streams based on your connection speed settings in the player.

From the video, I cannot tell.... is there a 'countdown tree' on the ride?

I thought they said there was going to be one, but I don't see it.

It took me 3 minutes to download the Quicktime version and I have a cable modem.

Don't we all just love the delicate noise of a 6 ton train hauling some serious ass...

Wow... it really looks energetic...
Looking at the video, it becomes apparent how difficult it is to capture such a monstrous machine on a tiny video image, and it's amazing to see how close Badnitrus was getting with his animation.
What the new POV seems to miss is the ubiquitous pumping trance music background.
Anyway... gosh, what a ride.
These days, it's good that it was themed to something civillian... the thing taking off has a lot similarity with a launching fighter jet.

Sweet video! Is it me or does the second stationary shot of the Dragster in action seem like a rollback shot? Two things make me believe this: sounds like the hydrolic ram is losing power, plus the train looks abnormally slow approaching the apex right before the it is cut to a shot of it plummeting down. In any case, this is going to be one wicked trip! We have plans of heading there around Memorial Day. Just hope traffic is decent!

Well, it doesn't look like all the video is from the media day. At least one of them obviously has dummies in it (or a bunch of very stiff people all wearing the same thing). I get the impression this was all filmed over the past couple of days.

I could be wrong though, it's happened many times before...

That video is from some time prior to media day. I don't know what day.

I use Cleaner 5 or Cleaner XL and Sorenson Pro 3 to encode the QT's.
