New pics of SFGAM construction!

Wow! Thanks for the pics. I didn't know they were that far along.

Cornball Express- America's first stand up woodie.

The best part of the pics is the wonderful showing of SFGAm's use of Duck Tape. Hopefully during the next week we'll see more de-construction, since its stopped right now to help the park catch up with Fright Fest. ( They still need to do things such as change Iron Wolf...) It'll be interesting to see how fast it all goes though!

Brutal.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, since they had to cut apart the track, they are covering up the sharp edges with duct tape so nobody gets cut.

Kyle Rehm I think I saw you yesterday taking pics of the shockwave track I took some pics too. I just havent developed them yet.
They've also cut the footing bolts on the two outermost boomerang supports to remove the nuts. I suspect they'll be gone before too much more track is removed.

The duct tape is most likely to protect the cut edges of steel. Those edges aren't painted and so they have the potential of rusting very easily. This is just further proof that Six Flags plans on keeping the ride.

Holydumb26 - If you saw me I was with my girlfriend. As for the duct tape, its probally to perserve the edges, only funny thing is that they are blow torching the connectors between the Supports and Track. I'm not sure on how the supports connect to the track but, the cuts they are making aren't the cleanest of cuts...

Yes, some of those cuts, well, sucked.

Those pieces were the spine is cut really worry me. It doesn't seem like something they would do if they really are relocating Shock Wave.

If it was heading to the dump, wouldn't they be using a wrecking ball? Isn't that how DF went?
Yeah I did see you It was about 9:50ish

I was with my Friend

Don't worry, it will not be scratched. The pieces are labled. (example: b roll entrance, b roll exit) A good sign that it will indeed be relocated.

Great pictures especially #2 nice pic of our car. My hubby & I were there around 10:00 taking pictures, he had the Cedar Point Camp Snoopy shirt I had the King's Island sweatshirt on. Mark kept touching the Shockwave track I think he thought a genie was going to pop out & grant him 3 wishes. Did anyone else get asked to save Shockwave?
