New Pics of AIR

here are the pics
and it seems that the track will be filled with sand.  if you look at the photos from August, the rails are open.  however, that is station track.  whereas the photos from September shows track with closed off rails.  this shouldn't be surprising with the strict regulations.

anyway, there are some nice ariel and close up pics.  if there isn't another B&M flying planned soon, Alton Towers might be a reason for me to leave the country for the first time!

I love the Jet Black and Grey Track. And i cant wait to ride one of those things. If I go to England before one of those is built in America, i will go to Alton Towers, even if i have to run away from my parents for a day.
Look at the size of the track compared to that guy in pic 114!  I suppose it's standard gauge, but it just looks huge.

Also, Islands of Adventure is getting the 2nd B&M flying coaster, but not in 2002.  Yes, really, although I doubt you'll believe me!

You'd be surprised how much bigger B&M track is up close.  Boy that lift hill doesn't even look 100 ft tall.  Maybe it'l be built more like Nemesis is...

Yes, every time I have ridden Nemesis it suprises me how large the whole thing is, including the track.  And Oblivion is double-gauge!  I'd just like to see someone standing next to Oblivion track laying on the ground.

Actually Nemesis is quite loud. I could hear it before I could see it.

all B&M's are loud.  I once got a headache after riding Raging Bull at SFGA.  that has sand-filled rails.  the point is that B&M coasters with sand-filled rails aren't as loud as those with hollow rails.

Umm-on a side note, after seeing the underside of the lift-it looks like it will be a regular chain-lift, not a launched lift hill.

Have you been on every B&M? Some are much, much quieter.

V2 Fiend: where did you hear that it was going to be launched?  I've always heard that it was going to be a chain lifthill.  but you're right, it looks like a chain.

PT300: I'm not going to continue with this trivial debate.  the rails look sand-filled so as to cut down on noise.

coasterjedi: Raging Bull has sand filled track? I never heard that, but maybe you're right, on the other hand, people say they can't believe how quiet Talon is, so i'm thinking that RB doesn't have filled rails cause it really does pack a roar.:)

B&M+SFGAm=3 excellent coasters.

Yeah, you wanna see Oblivion track!! On the loud B&M's topic, I was at SFMW shortly after Medusa opened, it's real quiet. It was up and down like a Ho's panties on the day I went so there was a lot of testing, and without people yelling on it you can hardly hear it-even up close.
RBGuy: I remember hearing somewhere that it had sand filled rails.  though I could be wrong.  my memory might be failing me in my old age.  next year, when I'm 19, there'll be nothing left but a big baby that eats, drinks, and...well you know the rest and this is a family board.

LOL! That is funny. AIR looks great. About B&M's roar, the loudest I have been by are Iron Wolf, Batman, and Mantis.
