I want to look forward to this game, but looking at the screenshots, I know I'm not going to like it as much. As far as I'm concerned, there's never been a 3-D sequel that's lived up to its 2-D predecessors.

Sometimes with RCT2, I think building a great ride took the backseat to building a pretty one.
With the essentially 'interactive' nature of RCT3, environment will take even more focus.
If anything it will be good for the park builders, less good for those who enjoy building rides...
...although I suppose it could be argued that the ability to ride your creations might offset that.
Who knows? I'll buy it. I'll upgrade my PC to get the most out of it. I'll waste way too much time playing it.
Same old pattern. :)
I hope they do a demo! :)

My only concern is that the 3D environment will lead to "theme tycoon" in people - even more so than some of the theme whores in RCT2.
I was kind of hoping that 3-D would do the opposite: that when people could actually ride their rides, they could find out themselves what is and isn't appropriate. i.e. something with horrible pacing, too many helices, repetetive layout, etc. would not be as fun to ride as a well-done coaster.
So far, the scenery, while impressive in its wonderful 3-Dness, isn't as varied or complex as RCT2. Without as many pieces to work with, I am expecting less themeing, not more, in RCT3 uploads.
Just two cents from the theme whore point of view.;)

I donno, most of the game looks too "sim"ish for my tastes... but they are still getting the money from me... there is no way I wouldn't buy this.

I had the same thoughts. I always preferred making more realistic parks and rides. That's mainly why I didn't post as many on CBGames back then, themeing would get you a "10" even if the damn thing rolled back every time.
I posted a similar thought in the news topic. Someone mentioned the "only five themes." I have no problem with that. Too many of the later themes were cheese anyhow. Who needs a park with a big friggin' lollipop?
The fact that the site mentions more realistic rides, and more ride elements for the existing coasters is enough for me.
Looks like I picked a good time to upgrade my system... I double or triple all of their recommendations. The old Compaq would have had a hard time keeping up.
Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.
Hi
But when I saw the 4D, and the B&Ms, I began to get really excited. Can't wait to play it!
