Sigh...

I want to look forward to this game, but looking at the screenshots, I know I'm not going to like it as much. As far as I'm concerned, there's never been a 3-D sequel that's lived up to its 2-D predecessors.

You're such a poopy pants! Looks to me like it'll essentially be the same game with some neat new parts to it.

My only concern is that the 3D environment will lead to "theme tycoon" in people - even more so than some of the theme whores in RCT2.

Sometimes with RCT2, I think building a great ride took the backseat to building a pretty one.

With the essentially 'interactive' nature of RCT3, environment will take even more focus.

If anything it will be good for the park builders, less good for those who enjoy building rides...

...although I suppose it could be argued that the ability to ride your creations might offset that.

Who knows? I'll buy it. I'll upgrade my PC to get the most out of it. I'll waste way too much time playing it.

Same old pattern. :)

I'll agree with you there. I think if you get on the ride and think, "Wow, that wasn't very interesting," it'll change the perspective people have.

I hope they do a demo! :)

I was kind of hoping that 3-D would do the opposite: that when people could actually ride their rides, they could find out themselves what is and isn't appropriate. i.e. something with horrible pacing, too many helices, repetetive layout, etc. would not be as fun to ride as a well-done coaster.

So far, the scenery, while impressive in its wonderful 3-Dness, isn't as varied or complex as RCT2. Without as many pieces to work with, I am expecting less themeing, not more, in RCT3 uploads.

Just two cents from the theme whore point of view.;)

That last screenshot of the invert... the track looks real in perspective of shading and angle... here:

I donno, most of the game looks too "sim"ish for my tastes... but they are still getting the money from me... there is no way I wouldn't buy this.

I am very excited about this. It is one of the coolest things ever to happen to the coaster community (okay, so RCT applies to the theme park community). This game is denfitely getting my money, and it deserves it.
Poopy pants? Have you been going to insult night school?

I'll get it. Now where did I put that PCI-e motherboard and dual NVidia video card rig...?

I had the same thoughts. I always preferred making more realistic parks and rides. That's mainly why I didn't post as many on CBGames back then, themeing would get you a "10" even if the damn thing rolled back every time.

I posted a similar thought in the news topic. Someone mentioned the "only five themes." I have no problem with that. Too many of the later themes were cheese anyhow. Who needs a park with a big friggin' lollipop?

The fact that the site mentions more realistic rides, and more ride elements for the existing coasters is enough for me.

Looks like I picked a good time to upgrade my system... I double or triple all of their recommendations. The old Compaq would have had a hard time keeping up.

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

Hi

Woah! I wasn't excited about this game because at first it looked like a 3D version of RCT because I didn't see any new coasters.

But when I saw the 4D, and the B&Ms, I began to get really excited. Can't wait to play it!

Man! I am excited, I thought I was going to be dissapointed because of the "preview videos" just a 3D enviroment of the original RCT, but in fact I am more impressed as more comes out, so far things are looking like a "top seller material" item! I can't wait till November! Life is good!
Gamespot now has the 3rd trailer, high def, fast, and free! :)
