New Laser Light Show to close Geauga Lake each night!

Yes,this season Geauga Lake will feature an all-new light/imagery show that will be in the parks main gate area, themed to the americana. The show is called "Freedom" and will close the park every night!!! This info came straight from Mr. Bill Sphen in the section on geaugalake.com under "from the general manager". here's the link if so desired.

Oh boy, wait until the neighbors hear about this one wont they be thrilled. Expect a lawsuit sometime this sumemr due to "errant laser beams waking residents up, or worse causing blindness."

Sounds good. I like laser shows. I miss the old days where GL/Sea World would have shows and I would ride on the sky ride over the water and watch them before heading home.

Does this mean GL is getting one of those giant white screens?

What are you talking about, Touchdown? Sea World did this for years.

It is a shame they don't do it in the stadium though. Good memories there.

I wouldn't think that they would need one of those screens. Sea World didn't use one, they just used their stadium. I'm glad it's coming back, that was the best part of the trips to Sea World back in the mid to late 90's.

^ Sea World used the stadium, but they also projected onto SOMETHING. Bonus points if you can tell me what it was :-)

I do wish GL would use the stadium for sure. Lots of memories to be had there.

If I remember right, it was the water of Geauga Lake, and the Ski Show props.

Eh, if you want to get more specific, they used water curtains.
you beat me to the chase, oh well. I actually saw this coming but we'll have to see what they plan to do with it. Maybe this'll be a learning year for GL and hopefully they'll move it back to GL Stadium. ::Shrugs:: oh well

IT'S GONNA BE FUN ;).

PhantomTails with the winning answer :-)

It was the first time I'd ever seen water curtains in action, and I thought they were the coolest thing I had ever seen.

I still think they're pretty cool, and I'd like to see them do that again.

From what I understand, there will be a screen on the Main Gate building that will show a video. And for the record, it does not mention the word laser anywhere. I don't think it will be a big production, but a nice touch, none the less. *** Edited 4/4/2006 5:41:48 PM UTC by Fun***
I was thinking of the errant theatrical lasers Disney (and I think CP does too but Ive never actually watched their show excpet when I caught it in line for MF) that shoot out into the night that look great but go for miles (I remember being able to see the EPCOT lasers from the Fantasmic arena and saw the Fantasmic lasers from the Old Key West resort) I didnt think of the laser on a screen approach other CF parks (hits head on table.)

they should put a bellagio-esque show in the lake :)

In addition to all of this, we’re in the process of relocating the floating bridge across the center of the lake to provide a shorter and more efficient access route between Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom. The park will also open up a walkway located behind the Raging Wolf Bobs for additional access between the two parks. And within this walkway, we’ll add two convenient 10-passenger shuttles to provide free transportation.

so that makes llike the 5th boardwalk move? does that mean the ferry boats won't be there? -- amd as sombody mentioned, no mention of lasers. *** Edited 4/4/2006 7:49:40 PM UTC by SFDL_Dude***

Wow, technical is key around here. The word laser got used because I couldn't fit the line "Light and Imagery" into the header. Figured everyone one would go to the source to read it and they would figure out the real deal. Thats all, just substituted the words "Light and Imagery" for "Laser". It meant nothing, but sorry for the Misdirection.

It's all good lakecrystal, it's just that I am more impressed with a laser show than I am a "light & imagery" show ;-).

I'd be more impressed with 'erotic dancers', but hey, to each his own. ;)

I am often impressed with erotic dancers. :) If they were the in line entertainment, I wouldn't mind a 3 hour wait.

Hi

Erotic Dancers and Water Curtains.

Thats the ticket!

kpjb's avatar
...so you're suggesting wet erotic dancers, eh? A fine idea, indeed! I assume there's beer involved, right?

Hi

Iron City of course!
