My apologies if this has been covered, I've been off-line for a few weeks. I know Chris Godsey mentioned that Knotts will be getting a SkySkater from Interactive Rides. I can verify that the ride is indeed on property and sitting in the backlot waiting to be placed in Camp Snoopy.
In other news, Tampico Tumbler is operating again and Slammer is currently down. I've heard rumors of a new adult flat coming to the park to take the place of Slammer...has anyone heard likewise?

Wow, that's a shame, the Falling Stars do *seem* to have fallen out of favor recently. Have they just become maintenance nightmares, 'cause I really DO enjoy the ride...
Of course, Tumbler being back up is GREAT news...it was down on my last visit, and is one of my all-time fav flats....EJECTOR air on a flat is a rare thing indeed, and those CLOSE clearances...
I would have thought of the Starfish as a more likely candidate for removal following the SFMW incident...CA, to me, just seems to be the most litigation-driven of the states...;)
Got any pics of that SkySkater?

Carson Palmer wins Heisman, although not as close as predicted...;)
Recommended viewing: Cartoon Network's New Year's Eve Bash, featuring Carl and Brak from Adult Swim....:)
Gator - no pics, sorry. But anyone parking in the Radisson lot can clearly see the ride thru the fence.
Wipeout [aka SFMW's Starfish] just went thru a lengthy rehab as did Tumbler, so I think those two are here to stay...for now, at least.
The rumor of Slammer leaving is just that: a rumor. The ride is placed in such a tight corner -- heck, one of Jaguar's supports has an odd bend so that Slammer can clear it -- that I don't see a new flat taking it's place. The logical site for a new flat would be where VertiGo! once was. Right now the only construction is in Camp Snoopy.

Hey Mamoosh, could you describe a SkySkater for us folks living under a rock?

It isn't so bad. . .
Once you're used to it
Not one ride is closed at Knotts Berry Farm, at least any rides that won't be removed next year. The petting zoo is long gone, the theater included. I don't know where screamscaped learned the red baron was being removed for good, it just got rehabbed like Tampico Tumbler. The slammer has a big maintance problem earlier this year, leaking oil and all.
The rumors are (or were):
-Hammerhead to be removed (not happening).
-Tampico Tumbler and the Grandslammer (maybe the food outlet too) to be removed for next years "Adult Ride". I'd guess the sky swatter since they have a long relationship with S&S, and supposedly they have a credit for the vertigo incidents.
-Kingdom of the Dinosaurs is supposed to leave soon, if not 2003, 2004. I hope so.
-The invert around the lake for 2004-2005.
Whizzer Boi: It appears to make no sense, but there was a reason for the rehab.
Rollergator: I guess we are just lucky, as Wipeout is back open again. :)
Its hard to explain everything, because I don't want to put the info out there so soon. Like I said, plans change, and I respect the park and the people that let me in on such info. They are a buisness, and its not fair to reveal their future intentions.

Xcelerator-
0-82 in 2.3 seconds! =Wow!
Zamerla after Hammerhead?!? I thought they hated Zamperla reliability. They do build their rotoshakes much better than Huss' Top Spin, I hate that torture contraption.
Tampico Tumbler's not done yet? I thought it opened up WAY before the holidays, like almost a month ago. Also, everyone says that the tampico tumbler is very unreliable, but not in my case. Of the many times i've been, the tumbler is almost always open. A heck of a lot more often than Xcelerator, thats FOR SURE.
I really want to see one of the new S&S rides. Maybe they can instead use their credit (if rumor is true) to retrofit Supreme Scream with the 40 degree tilting seats. That would be sweet.
Ok, sorry lemme rephrase that- for "holiday crowds" (thanksgiving included ;) )
But yeah, it was rushed to get back open, the car's were't fixed at all and a few are still taped up with caution tape (at leats they were a few weeks ago)
More notes from my visit on 12/22:
Tampico Tumbler has one pair of cars taped off, the rest were open. Slammer is the only ride not operating. Xcelerator crews were excellent, getting trains out quickly and not pushing down too hard on lap bars. I didn't notice any downtime on Xcelerator during my stay at the park.
Rad Baron was indeed open...Bassistist's kids rode it. There are two sets of construction walls in Camp Snoopy, one on either side of Red Baron. However while the petting zoo was history the theatre was still standing as of my visit.
Elf Mountain was very impressive, I hope this becomes a holiday tradition [and the park eventually re-themes Calico Mine Train as well!].
Oh, and season passes are on sale for $54 thru Jan 5th.
