New Jersey warns of rigged amusement park games

Unscrupulous amusement operators have been known to monkey with games of chance, using hidden tricks, misleading instructions and other ruses to tip the odds or make the game unwinnable, New Jersey officials warned yesterday. The state's Division of Consumer Affairs wants people to be aware of potential cheating, and offers tips to consider before playing.

It's about time. They are not only a total ripoff from the "monkey business" aspect, but as far as I am concerned, a COMPLETE ripoff just based on the prices alone. I haven't played any games at the shore or at any amusement parks in years. If I did, I wouldn't be able to afford my $3.50 bottles of water! lol
Actually, on the shore i won tossing the red rings onto the bottles, i won a really nice bike too ^^. However, they told me i was the 7th winner of the summer, and it was in August... so yeah. I think that people have known that the games were rigged for a while.. haven't we? I thought the GP was in on this secret as well :P
How can you "rig" a game where you toss rings on bottles? Just because a game is really difficult doesn't mean it's rigged.
Den.........another article that I read said that the necks of the bottles were found to be bigger than the hole on the rings themsleves, therefore making it "rigged"
A similar game of tossing a bigger ring around the head and bill of a duck was found to be impossible as well, the ring also could not fit over both at one time.
They're rigged to the point of being NEAR impossible. If one is very very lucky it is possible that one will win the game. I just happened to be very very lucky at that time. They can't make it impossible, because noone will play if noone wins. I find it easier to win the ring-tossing ones in hershey *has lots of those giant stuffed animals ^^;*
That reminds me of the last Strong Bad Email.... Pom Pom is throwing the rings around the bottle, then Bubs goes, "No, no, no, you gotta get the rings IN the bottle!" lol... There is a reason I don't play carnie games.
