New Jersey proposes G-force limits for rides

Does anyone know what the proposed regulation actually says?

By the way it is a regulation, not a law before the legislature. For those not familiar with the process, the New Jersey legislature passed a law last year creating a comission to regulate amusment rides. Now the comission is creating regulations to implement the law.

o man, this is sad, the law isn't gonna affect anything around the coaster industry at all. Most coasters dont even pass the 6g range vertically and no coasters pass the 2.5g range laterally. Negative g's aren't even in this law, for the range would have been 1 - 6gs if they said no negative gs or 0 - 6gs for some what light amount. In some aspects, New Jersey actually is favoring the amusement park industry by setting the limit to 6gs. New Jersey could have followed the opinions of Markey and made the limit 4gs or even 3gs if they wanted too. I found this no big threat to the community and it is a good thing to have it cause the General Public can think of it as a safety percaution and not have to worry bout the coasters that are being built exceeding unprecedented g-forces, which they dont anyway to do this day. This lawy should have never been created for it is meaningless but this can be looked at as a win-win situation. GP will feel safer knowing there are limitations and designers will not have to change the way they build coasters to fit this state's requirements. I have a standard answer to ride safety concens. How did you get to the park? In a car? My god, man, do you know how many people die in those things? I hope you at least have a team of experts inspect and maintain it every day; I hope the government will make that mandatory, and also require that none of those machines can be manufactured that exceed 35 MPH. Childen ride in them, you know.

Pat, you'll never convince liberals like Markey with common sense. They'd much rather spend their time insuring the saftey of the dozens of families affected by corporate neglegance than the tens of thousands of families affected by daily hazards. Just know that under the leadership of people like Markey there are two rules you need to remember....

1. You don't know what's good for you.
2. An unregulated corporation is the devil. :-)

Isn't what Markey said libel or slander? I always forget which is which, written or spoken, but that could get him in trouble. Why doesn't one of the chains like SF, CF, or Busch get on his ass about that and shut this guy up. Thats what the government does to people when they say/write slander or libel, and other people do it to other people, why not corporation and government?

I wish that Markey character would ride a coaster somewhere and has a brain anyuerism burst... except he shoudln't die, just be a vegetable ;)
