New in Tennesse...CoasterJamin is back!

Hey all you that I have somehow lost touch with over the past couple of months...but hey joining the US Army will change a lot of things...buy hey I am back.....

So now that I am in Tennesse...I have easy access to several parks in the area and need a few suggestions from the coaster fans that are in the area or have at least been here...

Close to me is Dollywood, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, and Six Flags St. Louis.

I have already been to Holiday World and loved it but I need to know if the two to three hour long drive down to dollywood is worth it???

Let me know...I am planning on hitting there over the weekend if I hear some good things....It's great to be back on the buzz and keep in touch

'00 Bluestreak Crew
'01 Millennium Force Crew
'02-'03 Dueling Dragons Crew / Krakken Crew / G-Force Dragster Crew...Now 101st Airborne Division.

I drove about 1100 miles to Dollywood and thought it was totally worth it. DW is probably the friendliest park I've been to, including HW; and Thunderhead and Tennessee Tornado are awesome ride. TT is so weird because it is an Arrow so you brace yourself for it to suck, and then it rocks your face off. Ride that one in the back.
Thunderhead is fantastic. They don't build 'em better than this. Well worth a three hour drive.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".

Dollywood is definitely worth the drive. It is one of the most beautiful and cleanest parks you will ever find. Everytime I've been it's immaculate. Thunderhead, their new GCII wooden coaster from last season, is simply amazing. It was voted both best new wood coaster and coaster of the year here on the CBuzz Coasters' Choice Awards. Our own Cbuzz member, Coasterpunk, helped build the well crafted and beautifully constructed Millennium Flyer trains. Tennessee Tornado is also outstanding. The first drop has incredible airtime. Sit in the back.

Other parks to consider:

Lake Winnepesaukah in Chattanooga, a great little traditional park with the classic John Allen out and back woodie, Cannon Ball. There's also a mouse coaster.

Visionland in Birmingham has the CCI woodie, Rampage, easily a top 10 in many people's opinion. They also just built a boomerang.

Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana is definitely a great park within about a day's drive. Their two CCI woodies, Hoosier Hurricane and Cornball Express, will rock your world. They also have one of the few remaining Schwarzkoph Jet Star coasters, a Galaxie, and the weird little woodie, LOst COaster of SUperstition MOuntain (LoCoSuMo).

Lastly, Beech Bend, is just up the road from you. You might already know they're adding a spinny mouse this year and a GCII woodie next year.

Hope that helps.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
