New forum: early test version

Registration with a new username/email address works smoothly. I clicked on the confirmation link in the email, and it worked just fine, and logged me in with my new account.

Will club members still be able to choose from alternate color schemes?

And if so, would it be possible to let the user customize the scheme by choosing colors for the different elements?

Or is something like that not worth it?

The color schemes will definitely be a part of things, but maybe not right at launch. Here's the thing, I could sit on it and spend more time getting new themes set up, or I could launch with the new functionality and speed sooner. I think people could do without the color choices for a little while at least. :)

I've been using "Cool Blues" for so long that the green and white just kills me.

I will begrudgingly adapt. ;)

And yeah, the save login thing is weirding out.

If I go away and come right back it saves it. But if I go away for any period of time (not sure exactly how long), then I have to login again.

Got the login saving thing resolved. I'll try to tackle that session tracking nonsense today. I had to make a flow chart to figure out what the hell the logic is. :)

It won't let me change my e-mail address, keeps saying "Please enter a valid e-mail address" I am entering in this format "name@server.com" and I am getting that error.

I would also like to recommend adding a search of the Profiles.
Also being able to see the users pic in the drop down menu would be nice (a thumbnail would be great) *** Edited 1/20/2007 7:50:24 PM UTC by Morté615*** *** Edited 1/20/2007 8:04:53 PM UTC by Morté615***

One more thing, the links inside the drop down menu after clicking on the username in a post, are not working. The only one that actually shows anything is the one that is the persons website.

Good spot. Try it now. And please trim your signature to three lines or less.

OK the e-mail is working but the links in the mini profile are still not working. The Send Private Message and Send Email show a 404 script error, and the posts and full profiles links just show blank pages. *** Edited 1/20/2007 9:21:08 PM UTC by Morté615***

That's because those pages don't exist or link to blank pages.

Not sure if you're still working on the feature or not, but the AJAX user profiles break if you click the person's username again while the box is sliding open or closed. I'm using Firefox 2.0.

Works OK for me, same browser.

I'm not sure what to tell you... I just booted FF up in safe mode, and it's doing the same thing. I click on the username, click on it again while the box is in the process of opening or closing, and it'll lock the panel in place, with the rest of the page behaving strangely as well.
It breaks when I do the same as well, on Firefox.

You guys need to be more specific. What exactly happens? "Breaks" and "behave strangely" isn't specific enough.

it works perfectly fine for me on Firefox 2.0, Safari, Camino, and Shiira.
Jeff, I continually clicked on a username. The profile information would open and close but eventually it stopped moving in between the open and closed state. Clicking on that username again would not open or close the profile. I was able to open additional profiles of other uses, but could not close them.

This only happened after clicking multiple times (maybe 10) on a username. I'm guessing this is what PhantomTails & Infamy were experiencing.

That's an easy fix... Don't click it 10 times!
That isn't a fix.
