New Flat Rides Energy Storm & Power Surge

Has any lucky Buzzers had a chance to ride these awesome creations? I'd ride 'em in a heartbeat!

Designed & manufactured by Zamperla & showcased at IAAPA 2K.

Power Surge - Kinda like a cross between a Huss Enterprise and a Reverchron? Zipper.

Here's what Jeff had to say about them;

Power Surge is fabulous. I really enjoyed that ride and would love to see one pretty much anywhere close to me. They were tweaking the program on Energy Storm when RideMan and I rode it. It kept you upside down too long, and put some uncomfortable pressure on the shoulders.

Home Park - Wonderland Sydney, Australia, featuring;
1) The Demon - 1988 Vekoma Boomerang
2) The Bush Beast - 1985 KEC Woodie (Clone of PKD's Grizzly)
3) Beastie - 1985 KEC Junior Woodie
4) More steel coasters please!!! Preferably a B&M Masterpiece!
I rode power surge at knoebels. It's pretty cool if you ride with someone. If not it whips you around pretty good.

"One good thing about all this, with all this fresh air were gonna sleep like babies"

I have been on an energy storm at a fair in jacksonville last year. Allright but nothing too exciting. and i agree with jeff in it keeps you upside down for too long.

Actually, and I know Rideman knows the specific details, Energy Storm and some of their other rides were designed by someone else and acquired.

(taking Jeff's cue...) Energy Storm isn't really a new ride, though it's new to us lot. A few years ago, Soriani & Moser split up (I think it was something to do with too many kids and not enough Vice President offices). Anyway, Soriani was subsequently bought by Zamperla, so the Power Surge, Energy Storm, and yes, even that Skyscraper clone that Thrill-Ville USA is putting in were all designed by Soriani or Soriani & Moser, and are now sold by Zamperla under the Zamperla name.
Meanwhile, Moser Rides is building lots of rides as well...an interesting coincidence: Zamperla was showing the Energy Storm at IAAPA; Moser had CGI animation of it running in his booth.

I'm looking at those pictures of Power Surge and I can't tell what that thing does. I would watch the video but my computer might explode. Can anyone make an attempt to explain it to me?
I'll try to explain the Power Surge. The wheel slowly is lifted to a "Witches' Wheel-like" position as it spins around. The seats are free to rotate 360 degrees on a horizontal axis, i.e. you spin from side to side while the wheel revolves. Once the ride is fully elevated, the entire structure rotates 360 degrees as well. There are so many different motions involved, but it is not at all nauseating. A very fun ride and one that I wish more parks had. Zamperla's Skyscraper clone is the Turbo Force and is also an unbelievable thrill. Far better than any Zipper, Top Spin, or especially any Inverter ride!

Sincerely,
Jackie Gaughan

Best woodie: The Beast
Best steel: MF
Best park: IOA! Get to the point... cedar point!
I just got back from the La County Fair and I rode rides similar to Power Surge and Energy Storm. The ride I rode like Power Surge was very uncomfortable and I was screaming "I wanna get off!!!!" because of the pain is was experiencing. The Energy Storm Type ride I rode was soooo much fun. I rode it five times. By the way if anyone goes to the LA County Fair I highly recommend you ride the ride thats like Supreme Scream at KBF. I extremley fun and I think its better than Supreme Scream. To me it gives more air time.
I hope these two rides come to the Houston Rodeo midway next year! Last year, Evolution stole the show, but these two look like they could give it a run for its money!
